The Magdeburg tragedy clarifies that Carl Schmitt's friend-enemy distinction is primarily determined by race.
Not ideology, religion, sportsball, nebulous values, or papers. These are cheap substitutes for blood and soil that cowards and fools focus on because they are easier.
They are easier issues to argue about only because the system constructed an artificial paradigm making it thus.
Civic nationalism and the other forms of pseudo-nationalism which the alt-lite and their successors cling to are intellectually indefensible.
And as Magdeburg shows, they are also morally indefensible.

My grandpa remembers the day they got the telegram. Cousins were stacking hay when they heard "¡Mataron a Mone!"
The capitalists pushing H1B visas speak of money, jobs, and opportunity. I have heard no mention of service, sacrifice, blood.
America is not a "sports team" nor an idea, but a Nation built at terrible cost.
My family has paid our share of blood.
