VHSTAPES.ORG Has had apps open this month
https://vhstapes.org/
They seem to have a jot form open. They have Captures/tapes/shows/TV with original commercials. Adultswim collections, toonami collections, cartoon network, nick, nick jr, all those nostalgic outlets from our past, all sorts of nostalgic media from the 80s 90s and 2000s, seems to be a tons of tapes, normal TV shows, youtube archives, movies, I see 82 terabytes of stuff as of 3/9 when I login. They seem to still pretty much be nostalgic just changed domain names so if you had or have a nostalgic account its still there probably.

The COVID-19 / Equinox Update
Recovery
When Orpheus launched, we had managed to secure an old backup from the previous site. This was used through a program called Recovery, to kickstart the member base and it allowed people to pick up some of the releases they had made previously.
Seventeen months later, it is time to bring the program to a close. People who were on the previous site should have heard about us by now. Therefore the decision has been taken to close the Recovery program at the end of the month (2020-03-31 23:59:59 UTC).
We will continue to help out the considerable amount of people who applied for recovery, but made a mistake in the process (for example, by not entering the same email as with their initial registration).
Gmail
Be aware that, if you invite someone, at this point in time Gmail is not delivering any emails from Orpheus. Please instruct your invitee to use a different provider such as Protonmail instead. If this does happen, they will have to join #disabled on IRC.
Security update
We have implemented a rate-limiting measure that will limit the amount of .torrent files you are able to download, should certain conditions be met. This should not affect legitimate users, but should limit the ability of a malicious actor grabbing everything.
Many people may be aware of a group named The-Eye, who are on a crusade to render private trackers irrelevant by lifting all the content through a technique called ‘Ghost leeching’ and making the data available on their own platform for a modest fee.
Their modus operandi consisted of iterating over all IDs and downloading the .torrent files. These would be loaded into their custom client which would connect to the swarm and leech the contents without reporting anything to the tracker.
Up until now, in Gazelle, this was possible because there is no built-in code to prevent this type of crawling. The code will be open-sourced, like everything else we have written and we hope that it will allow other Gazelle-based trackers to adopt the fix.
How does it work?
Gazelle makes a distinction between files that are downloaded and whether that file has been loaded into a client and snatched. We use this differentiation to determine a “Snatch Factor”.
An example: If you download many files but snatch very few, eventually the balance becomes very lopsided. For example, 60 files downloaded and only 5 of them snatched will result in a Snatch Factor of 12.
Every user class (User, Member, Power User, …) has an allowed class factor, which becomes more lenient as you level up. If your own Snatch Factor is higher than the class factor, you move into “Overshoot mode”.
In “Overshoot mode”, you can download a limited number of additional torrent files per 24 hour window. If you download more than this then you will begin to receive a “429 Too Many Requests” rejection. This means you will need to wait for a while or ensure that the torrent files you have already downloaded, have been snatched completely (100%, no partial leeches).
The allowed number in “Overshoot mode” increases as you move up user class levels.
TL;DR
The new rate-limiting measure should not affect legitimate users. Torrents uploaded yourself are not taken into account and may be downloaded as often as needed.

10 Years of GazelleGames!
Happy 10th Birthday GGn!
It's been ten years since GGn was created and a lot has happened since then. Looking back, it's been an incredible journey. We celebrated our first Birthday, reached the impressive milestone of 400 torrents uploaded (we are now reaching 170,000), implemented our unique Achievements System, introduced the Gazelle's Tavern which has since seen a lot of activity (5,305 posts and counting), and witnessed the emergence of our First Gaming God five years ago (we now have 28). The new Game Room style most of us are now so familiar with was announced three years ago; just a few months later, the new Items system was also introduced. And finally, we held our very own mystery scavenger hunt!
We've encountered various problems and overcame them all. We've seen staff come and go. We've stood where other trackers didn't stand the test of time. Now, we've arrived at the present state. We have more uploads, more seeders, and more activity than we've ever had before. GGn has managed to grow a lot over the past years and will continue growing into the future. None of this would have been possible without you, our dedicated users.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our users. At the end of the day, GGn is a community based around people exchanging ideas and content with each other. There are so many people contributing in countless ways, whether it be uploading, downloading, seeding, donating, helping out other users, editing a group, updating a wiki article, or contributing to the community in the myriad of other ways. And even to the smallest contributor, I'd just like to say: Thank you, we appreciate your work. We're all part of a wonderful thing thanks to you.
Stability
Over the past year, we've seen significant increases in activity. While this means good things for our community as a whole, our servers have been struggling keeping up. We've identified a number of issues and managed to address a lot of them. We've seen considerable increases in performance already and are continuing to make further adjustments. Unfortunately, some of the deficiencies stem from more fundamental issues, the fixing of which requires rewriting of certain systems. However, we're hard at work and making good progress! A big shout out and thank you to Sp07Light who has been helping us resolve some of these issues!
We've also got some larger changes planned, but in light of recent issues, we decided to instead focus on providing you a great experience with the existing features. Once we're satisfied with the state of the site and think it's ready to handle all the load everyone's throwing at it, we'll be announcing more details, so keep your eyes peeled. Until then, enjoy our nice new Birthday banner made by chris10000!
Presents & Birthday Items
In celebration of the past year, of what GGn has become, and as a thank you to all our users, we once again prepared some goodies for everyone! You may have noticed the gift box in this post. Clicking the box will award you with a 10th Birthday Gift, including some Personal Freeleech Tokens, 5000 Gold, and a chance to get 20% Off Coupons. In addition, there's a subset of special birthday items offering a variety of buffs. If you don't like the buff you get or just want to hoard them all, you can also trade them with other users (Pro Gamer+ only). Finally, the box contains a selection of birthday cards and offers a shot at getting some badge bits.
As always, the GGn gazelle cannot control its appetite and devours anything it sets its sights on. It's distracted by the birthday cakes right now, but supply won't last forever. We expect all gift boxes to be eaten in around twenty days.
Items!
This Birthday, you once again have the chance to complete a set of Gazelle cards. In addition to the old cards from last year, we've got a new set of Gaming Gazelles for our 10th Birthday. Huge thanks to cazzandra for designing our new Gazelle cards!

In addition to the trading cards, there's a new badge to be crafted. Magical Birthday Leaves have a chance of dropping from the site, IRC, and with higher rates from Gazelles in #AdventureClub. If you manage to gather 6 of them, you can create your very own Gazelle badge! If you haven't already bought it last year, check out the Book of Birthday Crafting in the shop for all the latest recipes.
#AdventureClub
While we're working on some larger issues, we've managed to fix #AdventureClub! The bots are once again online and the IRC channels properly working. Some things might be a bit dusty but we've got some exciting new things planned and are looking to overhaul various aspects to make the experience more enjoyable and less of a gold sink, in addition to adding plenty of (mostly already finished) realms to explore!
For the Pro Gamers among us — if you're already curious and would like to experience it before the revamp, you can read more about how to play in the #AdventureClub wiki article.
Games of the Decade & Freeleech
To celebrate the last decade of gaming and highlight games we think are truly noteworthy, we've asked our Gaming Gods and Legends to select their favourite games of the last 10 years. The first set of selections can already be viewed in the next post. Each day, a new set of games will be revealed for each year, starting with 2010 and increasing sequentially. All of these games will be freeleech until April 4, 2020 23:59 site time.
PS: Some of you might've noticed that GGn is technically a bit older than 10 years old. In fact, the first forum thread was created in February 2010. However, the site was still under construction at that time and not made public until March 15!

AnimeBytes News -Partial stats loss for users-
Partial stats loss for users - posted 6 hours, 8 minutes ago
Due to faulty tracker update, around 18 hours of changes to upload and download stats for 6982 users were lost. We have identified the issue within ~5 minutes and took site and tracker down.
All affected users were given ¥100,000 (equivalent of 100 GiB) which they can freely turn into upload as compensation.
We will now keep hourly snapshot of user and torrent stats, in addition to our current backups, in order to decrease effects of potential data loss in future.
Users that were affected in more severe fashion (above 100 GiB), for example due to exchanging yen into upload, are asked to send Staff PM.

Blutopia News - Your Help Is Needed...
I am making this post to inform the community that my finical stance has changed greatly! I am going to be 100% upfront. I can no longer pay for this site to operate. Until things change my end we need the communities help and we need it badly if this site is to remain in existence. At the time the site cost $215 a month to operate. $200 for the server and $15 for the mail service. At this point I know a lot don't do crypto. If that is the case you can sponsor me on GitHub for my open source projects like UNIT3D and I will be using the proceeds to help cover site costs. With GitHub you can use PayPal Credit or Debit.
With that said you can make a donation via the site and receive the perks it comes with or you can be a champ and sponsor via GitHub, however you do not receive any site perks. Just know you're keeping the site alive.
I made a post a week ago asking for sponsors via a Post, Article and MassPM. To my surprise out of the ~10K members we have we got only one sponsor from it. Im letting you know the struggle is real right now. We have never been a site to do ads, send pestering PMs constantly about donations and alike. Right now we need the help though.
It's up to the community for now.

PirateTheNet News - Happy 12th Birthday Pirates New and Old!!!
Holy cow! 12 freaking years!
When we started this ship, way back in 2008, we had one goal in mind: fuck the bullshit, we want to have fun with this hobby! From our choice of name, to our way of approaching promotions, and ratio, to our staff attitude. I have been here since the start, and I have watched this ship from the poop deck, to the captains chair, and even from the shore, and it never ceases to amaZe me how resilient it.
Many many people have worked hard to get this ship where it is, and we thank them all for their input and hard work. Without them, this boat would've sunk long ago, but staff are tough as sea monsters, and smart as a whip, so we keep plowing through the waves. On that note, let me give notice of our new staffers who answered the call when we asked for new blood.
****** is a fine young cannibal who likes long shambles through the countryside, looking for a fine set of brains... he knows the charleston and the mash potato, and will waltz you into the ground if you mess with him, so swabbies beware!
******, well, he's a sheep obviously, but he makes a mighty fine sweater! he likes to knit, and he's fond of greens at dinner, but not above a little protein when the boss isn't watching. He's built ram tough, so ewe better watch out or you'll get headbutted...
These dudes are kicking tail behind the scenes, so give them a hug the next time you see them!(if they'll let you...) They handled a hugely successful new member influx with class and style, which leads me to the next update.
We have a "few" new folks to welcome aboard. We processed a total of some 600+ applications, and got a lot of promising new members, so if you see a swabbie today, give them a noogie and throw them some love. If you are one of them, don't be scared to grab a movie and maybe a chat.
Ok, what birthday would be complete without some games and contests. Keep you eyes peeled over the next day or two as we roll them out!
I know times are scary right now, but it shouldn't stop us from enjoying a movie or few.

For every 10 GB you upload, 5 GB counts in your ratio in the positive direction.
