The "Hong Kong 47" are in urgent need of our support. Our fellow Hongkongers are suppressed and cannot speak up in Hong Kong. Therefore, living in the land of freedom, we should stand out and speak for them. We need to stand up for their rights and show the world the unfairness of the Hong Kong government and the CCP. So we urge your support in this joint campaign with participating cities to stand for the politically persecuted "Hong Kong 47" and all other Hongkongers in jail or on trial.

大眾汽車在其新疆業務上正面臨着新的問題。此前一位高管訪問了中國西北部地區，試圖消除人們對維吾爾族和其他突厥裔穆斯林在政府嚴厲的同化政策下遭受強迫勞動和其他虐待的擔憂。這家德國汽車製造商的中國區負責人表示，他在擁有10年歷史的烏魯木齊工廠沒有看到任何侵犯人權的行為，而該公司表示，強迫維吾爾人勞動不是其供應鏈的一部分。
Volkswagen is facing fresh questions about its operations in Xinjiang, after an executive visited the northwestern Chinese region to try to allay concerns that Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims are subject to forced labor and other abuses under harsh government assimilation policies. The German carmaker's China chief said he saw no human rights violations at the 10-year-old Urumqi plant, while the company has said that forced labor of Uyghurs is not part of its supply chain.

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen is set to visit the United States and meet House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in an effort to shore up U.S. support amid increasing Chinese military pressure on the island. Meanwhile, Tsai's predecessor Ma Ying-jeou, whose opposition party espouses closer ties with Beijing, is visiting China. Ma raised eyebrows back home when he echoed Beijing's official line that people in democratic Taiwan and in mainland China are all "from the same family." Ma, described by Beijing state media as a "former Taiwan leader," is receiving a red-carpet welcome but is not scheduled to meet any Chinese leaders.
