This is not the time we want to be #1! Biggest increase in housing prices.

I met with these fine gentlemen today for lunch. Rep Jake Sawyer and I talked about the concerns we have with no campaign contribution limits in Utah. We are going to try to work on that issue.
That is very sad news. I love Rep Burton.
The post office is making changes that will effect elections. Republicans must now mail ballots at least 2 days earlier than any previous election.

Today I was driving and saw a train that was transporting numerous military tanks. It was quite a sight to see it and I felt patriotism surge through me as I thought about our military defending our freedoms.
I am at the luncheon for Salt Lake Republican Women's Club. Data Republican is speaking. She is so fascinating. She is talking about several funding streams that are not good.
She has a new book that will be released in October called "Unelected." It has numerous citations and sources about funding coming from outside of Utah to influence this state. For those that don't know Data Republican is deaf and she has a lady that speaks for her.
I just texted my house member Ray Ward the talking point! I think it is good for us to start with a thank you after the session. I also thanked Rep Ward for something specific he had worked on. If you know something your legislators did that you appreciated include that in your text. It is so important we say thank you as often as we can. Please text your legislators!

Talking Point for 3/18-3/27! Please text your state legislators.

Thank you for all of your work during the legislative session. Thank you for passing HC Resolution 12 regarding America 250. It is wonderful that the schools are directed to teach the kids about the signers of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. It is important for them to learn about the price they paid for our freedoms.

This is from Rob's book: " Many gave lip service to constitutional principals, but given the chance to make a name for themselves by creation of a new national mandate or program, they threw the philosophy under the bus and went straight for the glory. The result was that government grew with reckless abandon."

It is so difficult for elected officials to hold true to the principles of limited government. It is a rare person that has such conviction.
More pics from the luncheon today. I am excited for Karianne and her congressional race.
This pic was from the luncheon with Data Republican last Thursday. I am grateful for Jill Peterson (left) chair of 39 and Myranda Hoberson (right) chair of 26.
This was a bill we definitely supported. We spend so much time on civics education in K-12 that higher ed can get overlooked. This bill passed. Thank you to Rep Melissa Ballard for her work on this.

*Directs the Utah Board of Higher Education to establish minimum requirements for using
primary source documents ( like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution) in writing courses;
Supported and Passed!

I love how this bill instructs the schools to use primary source documents from our founding for English curriculum. Thank you to Rep Auxier!

▸requires social studies instruction on American self-governance and comparative
government systems;
▸requires instruction from documents influencing America's founding and literary thought;
▸requires sourcing of English language arts assessment passages from primary source
documents where appropriate;

Josiah Bartlett was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was born on November 21, 1729 in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He wrote, "The time is now at hand when we shall see whether America has virtue enough to be free or not."
I am at the Salt Lake County Lincoln Day Dinner. Nick Shirley is the speaker. He is currently speaking about how he has made YouTube videos for years.
Nick said we have to be the one to stand up, we have to be the one to speak truth no matter how hard it may be.
