Both Ajax and Benfica struggled in their last national competition game.
Ajax played away against Cambuur, taking a late 3-2 win at minute 91, but controlling the game and having several chances.
Benfica draw at home against Portuguese League newcomers Vizela. Benfica played with 10 players for 80 minutes and still managed to control most the game.
Benfica has a limited squad, changed the manager in start of 2022 and has a different play style, which is suffering a bit in the goal scoring moments.
The first leg finished 2-2, with each team taking control of one half of the game. Ajax chances were mostly less dependent on a player creative burst and more based on team organisation and movement, with very fast and supported transitions.
I believe that Ajax will take win easily in former Amsterdam Arena, now Johan Cruijff Arena.
I'm sharing my analysis today because I think the odds can drop in favor of Ajax.

Expecting a great game today.
Both clubs come with a mentality to win, with different experiences and playstyles.

Liverpool has a very versatile squad with several options for different roles and demands that might be needed during the game. Klopp is very good at reading and adjusting at the right time, we've seen this several times during the Premier League, English Cups and Champions League. One example is how Liverpool adapted to game with Villarreal in Spain changing to a 2-3-5 that always gave number advantage in the offense since Villarreal was playing 4-4-2 and in all goals we could see one Liverpool man with no marking in goal position.
Hard to point to players to watch on this squad full of high quality and world class players.

Real Madrid has a limited squad with very different experiences. Some players are old, but extremely experienced and keep their calm and cool in the decisive moments. We saw this several times during the league and Champions League also with how they turned the result with Manchester City although the English side was much more dangerous during both games.
Real Madrid, their squad and Ancelotti are used to these types of games and pressure which is a weapon that will play on their side.
Hard to point to players to watch with such high class from back to front.

Liverpool are slight favourites for this matchup and I have to agree. I haven't seen any team defend well enough to prevent the Liverpool side from creating good chances.
In my opinion, Real Madrid was a bit too dependent on the struck of genius from one or two players in the Champions League this season and I think that Klopp will look to prevent those players to have room to show their level, this can give room to Vinícius and Rodrygo (although I assume he will be a sub). If Vinícius is on fire today and doesn't fail the usual 3-4 attempts per game, we will see a game of goals for sure.
If Real Madrid scores first, the game will be harder for Liverpool.

My suggestions
- Liverpool to win the Champions League @ 1.6
- Follow the game live for goals over/under markets
- Avoid corners as they are quite situational for these teams
- Enjoy the game with a cold drink and friends!

As expected, Rodrygo starts on the bench and Valverde is the starting lineup. This is a common lineup by Ancelotti that gives a bit more stability on the midfield.

Konaté destroying Vinícius so far. Real tried long or direct play to Vinícius, but Konaté doing one on one marking.
Clear tactic by Liverpool to avoid speed and playing directly from the back. So far, Real playing as expected.

Goal disallowed to Real Madrid, poorly in my opinion, but the ref is always correct

Analysis was mostly correct.
Vinícius would be an important part with most of the other stars under pressure. Real tried to explore Vinícius speed all game, all they needed was one correct attempt for a goal. Real subs didn't help much, even Ceballos failed one on one with Allison.
The real MVP today is Courtois with NINE saves that prevented all attempts that passed by Los Blancos defense. AMAZING!!!
As their current Champions League season, once again saved by a struck of genius by one of their very experienced players.
With Real scoring first, would make it much harder for Liverpool to counter the scoreboard.

Liverpool did a good game, wasn't very fortunate in goal convertion and Real takes the win.

Palmeiras is on fire this season.
Balanced team, wide squad, club providing stability to the manager, a few honourable trophies, only the Serie A missing there.

It's still early and the Serie A moves a lot, but I see that not having a World Cup or a Copa America in the summer is beneficial for south American leagues.

I've shared a few long-term like these in the past and they ended up quite well. Hit Porto to win in Portugal this season at 1.8 (placed in December 2021), last year Sporting to win in Portugal at 2.2 (placed in February 2022). Failed a 617 odds of European league winners by one point in 2020.
