Bill Maher comes to a brutal realization that his party is the worst when it comes to basic civility.
He almost figured it out on his own, but once Lara Trump spoke, reality set in.
“I never stop ragging on liberals and woke people. Not liberals. I’m a liberal. These people are different for just being f*cking snobs. This is the ‘I won’t eat with you at Thanksgiving’ people. This is the ‘no contact’ thing.”
“But lots of liberals wouldn’t be comfortable at a NASCAR rally either,” Maher added before admitting, “Liberals are worse about this… and we have to look in the mirror on that one.”
“We are just worse at the snobby thing. I don’t know any conservatives who don’t at least talk. Now maybe that’s ’cause you won.”
Lara Trump pushed back on the “cause you won” comment. “There was a time where we didn’t,” she said.
In that moment, things clicked for Maher, and he became convinced conservatives are simply better at being civil in defeat.
