Bill Maher’s liberal guest gets visibly triggered after Maher says he AGREES with Trump’s difficult Iran decision.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna laid out what was at stake:
LUNA: “We were willing to give them [Iran] basically an unlimited amount of nuclear energy if they wanted to actually have clean energy. But we told them, you have to end your enrichment program.”
“And ultimately, what happened was our intelligence was telling us they were not being faithful within those negotiations.”
“In addition to that, we were even willing to lift sanctions and trade with them, and they still would not accept that.”
“And so if you know that you’re going to get hit, and if you know that you are going to have people die, ultimately that’s a decision that I would never want to have to be in that position as the president.”
“But what I will tell you is I would rather be on the right side and be able to control the outcome of something that I know is going to happen regardless.”
MAHER: “I have to AGREE.”
PAUL BEGALA: “We don’t control shit! What are you talking about, controlling the outcome?!”
LUNA: “Respectfully, I disagree, because here’s the thing. We eliminated their Navy program. We eliminated their short-range and ballistic missiles program, and we still managed this.”
So Begala would rather leave it to a coin toss than to make a decision with a more predictable outcome.
It’s weakness like this, where you tell your enemies “don’t,” and they walk all over you, which cost Democrats the last election.
