Because when you actually have it badly, it’s “excuse my language, f*cking torture.”
Mandel’s OCD was so severe that it nearly destroyed his marriage. His wife gave him an ultimatum: get help, or it’s over.

Mandel’s OCD was so severe that it nearly destroyed his marriage. His wife gave him an ultimatum: get help, or it’s over.
His germaphobia led him to obsessively wash his hands, even scalding them “for hours.”
The obsession was so severe, something as simple as a shoe touching his pants could send his entire day spiraling.
“We’d be in a car, and [my daughter would] cross her legs, and her foot would touch the bottom of the shoe, which would touch my pants. I would scream, turn the car around, go home and have to change and miss the f*cking flight because the bottom of her shoe touched my pants.”
