Israel has warned US intelligence officials that Iran may be preparing to use chemical weapons, but the claims have triggered significant disagreement within the Trump administration.

Some US officials take the threat seriously, while others suspect Netanyahu is attempting to draw Washington back into major military operations. Gulf officials have also questioned the Israeli assessment.

Meanwhile, US Central Command reportedly has plans for strikes as early as November 4, although Trump has not authorized renewed attacks.

Diplomatic efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz continue alongside the military buildup.

ECB: DECEMBER RATE HIKE NOW SEEN AS HIGHLY LIKELY

Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel says another ECB interest-rate hike in December is almost unavoidable unless the inflation outlook improves significantly.

The ECB held its deposit rate at 2.50% last week, but policymakers increasingly view the pause as temporary.

Inflation is expected to exceed 4% in the coming months, more than double the ECB's 2% target.

Bulgarian central bank chief Dimitar Radev also warned that the inflation outlook has deteriorated since September.

AI BOOM: $10 TRILLION SPENDING WAVE RAISES FINANCIAL RISKS

Former New York Fed President Bill Dudley warns that AI infrastructure investment could exceed $10 trillion, potentially creating massive overcapacity.

Dudley estimates that only 2–3 of today's 7–8 aspiring AI hyperscalers may ultimately dominate the market.

AI infrastructure could require over $3 trillion in annual revenue to justify its investment costs.

Opaque private-credit financing, off-balance-sheet obligations and Nvidia's chip-value guarantees add further risks.

Ackman compared today's trading environment to casino-style markets, criticizing leveraged products and perpetual futures.

However, he said the volatility has created buying opportunities for Pershing Square, including Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet.

He also praised Visa and Mastercard as two of the world's greatest businesses and highlighted Netflix as a portfolio holding.

US MIDTERMS: SCHUMER SAYS DEMOCRATS ARE "NAUSEOUSLY OPTIMISTIC"

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed cautious optimism after voting in Brooklyn, suggesting Democrats have a realistic chance of reclaiming the Senate.

"A year ago, no one thought we'd be even close to taking the Senate back," Schumer said.

Democrats are favored to flip the House, but the Senate remains highly competitive.

Republicans currently hold a 53–47 Senate majority, meaning Democrats must win several Republican-leaning states to secure control.
