*How to write message that actually get Replies from professionals around the world*

Stop Starting With โ€œHello Sir/Maโ€

Imagine receiving 50 messages in a day.
Then someone sends:
Hello sir, I admire your work. Please can you help me with an opportunity? You will ignore it because there is nothing specific to respond to. Good networking messages begin with why you're reaching out.

โ€” Make It About Them First

Before you message someone, spend a few minutes understanding who they are. Read their profile. Look at their work.Find something specific they've done.
Then say: I came across your work on youth employability in Africa, and your approach to... Now they know you didn't randomly copy and paste the same message to 100 people. Specificity makes people feel seen.

โ€” Don't Ask for Too Much

One of the fastest ways to lose someone's attention is asking for too much too soon.
โ€œCan you give me a job?โ€
โ€œCan you mentor me?
โ€œCan you connect me to your network?โ€
Ask thoughtful questions, thereโ€™s an art of asking the right questions. Relationships are built in layers.
Don't ask for the harvest when you've not planted anything.

- Give Them a Reason to Reply

Instead of: โ€œI'd love to connect with you.โ€ Try this:
โ€œI'm currently working on a youth employability project in Nigeria. Given your experience building similar programmes globally, I'd love to hear your thoughts on one challenge we're facingโ€ฆโ€ Now there is something to respond to.

โ€” The goal of networking isn't to collect contacts.
It's to build relationships. Sometimes people don't respond to the first message. Send another thoughtful message later. Engage with their work. Share something useful. Keep building your own work too. You don't need everyone to reply. You need the right people to remember you and your work
