I'm using Jio right now (mobile data), but some people in our community are unable to use Telegram with Airtel (stuck on Connecting) They have easily bypassed it with a VPN (custom DNS has stopped working now) Also, the government has ordered Google and…
for some reason nextdns isn't working for me, can someone confirm?
did they block nextdns too or is the service down? lmao

This punishes 150 million ordinary Telegram users in India — not the insiders who leaked the exam materials.
And the ban hasn't stopped anything. The leaks just moved to other apps.
Over the past few weeks, we removed hundreds of channels sharing leaked exam materials and related scams in India.
We’ve also been making the “edited” label more visible to prevent backdating scams.

Here's a funny thing: When I use the official Telegram client, either my phone or my ISP (Jio) has an issue which causes the official Telegram client to get stuck in a Connecting... and Updating... loop. To fix this, I was using like 50 proxies and enabled the setting to auto-switch to the proxy with the lowest ping. However, this never happened with any unofficial client (exteraGram in my case). This was prior to the ban.
Now, even though texting works with my ISP, uploading or downloading media (maybe documents too? didn't try that) doesn't work.
which is why, nothing has really changed for me. After 1 month of using a custom client to fix the Connecting and Updating loop, I'll now start using 50 proxies again.
For Airtel users, texting doesn't work at all, so just use a proxy or a VPN, either works.
Haven't talked to any BSNL user yet.

Jio has now stopped working. Some people in our community report that BSNL has also blocked Telegram.

Chrome's next update will completely remove Manifest V2
Chrome is completely removing Manifest V2 in version 150 and 151, breaking most ad blockers such as uBlock Origin (the lite version isn't as effective).
Microsoft Edge and Opera are likely to remove Manifest V2 as well.

The edit button on Telegram is now removed
If you try to edit a message, it'll show an error saying "Sorry, you can't edit this message." After that, the edit button will be removed and you'll no longer be able to edit your messages till 30th June 2026.
Edit is still working for some people, but I guess it's just a matter of time till it gets removed.
Edit: I'm still able to edit the channel's messages, but there's no edited tag on this post.
another edit: meow
one more edit: I'm able to edit my messages in some chats, and unable to edit in others. Weird
So I'm unable to edit messages in DMs, public groups where I'm not an admin and private groups where I'm not an admin. I'm also unable to edit messages in some public groups where I am an admin.
