Your PS5 can now become a Linux Gaming PC

ps5-linux exploits a patched hypervisor vulnerability to convert PS5 Phat to a Linux PC with HDMI 4K60 video and audio output. It includes M.2 SSD support and working USB ports.

Supported firmwares:
- 3.00, 3.10, 3.20, 3.21, without M.2 support
- 4.00, 4.02, 4.03, 4.50, 4.51 with M.2 support
- More versions later

This is a soft-mod and the internal SSD isn't modified, so you need to re-run the exploit in order to boot into Linux. Standby, resume and built-in bluetooth isn't supported.

Spotify Rolls Out 'Verified by Spotify' Badge for Human Artists

The 'Verified by Spotify' badge with a green tick is for artists who have steady listener activity, follow platform rules, and display clear signals of a real artist such as tour dates, merch, or linked social accounts. Profiles that primarily represent AI-generated acts or AI personas are not eligible.

The badges will appear on artist profiles and in search over the coming weeks. More than 99% of artists that listeners actively search for will be verified at launch.

Google Gemini may get ads soon

Google's chief business officer, who spoke on the Q1 earnings call, said that Google was "open" to the idea of including ads in Gemini. However, this is not a confirmation that ads will come.

Let’s also be clear, ads have always been a big part of scaling products to reach billions of people. And if done well, ads can be really valuable and really helpful commercial information, and at the right moment we’ll share any plans as we have said, but we’re not rushing anything here.

Google refuses to aid thousands of bricked Pixels

Thousands of Google Pixel users are reporting that some software updates, including custom ROMs, have bricked their devices, leaving them stuck in endless bootloops or completely dead. Despite the growing number of complaints on the official Issue Tracker, impacted owners claim that Google didn't provide a definitive patch, rendering many phones completely unusable.

As more customers find themselves in a support limbo, the frustration is growing. Those with devices out of warranty are being directed to paid repair services, even though the problem was triggered by a mandatory system update. Accusations of carelessness have been triggered by this alleged failure to provide free repairs or an instant software patch.

While Google has acknowledged it is investigating the issue, a universal solution still remains unavailable.

A YouTube interface bug spikes RAM usage above 7GB and freezes tabs

Users using Firefox, Brave, Edge and more have reported video stuttering, unresponsive tabs and YouTube pages consuming 7GB RAM.

The bug was caused by a layout loop in the interface below the video player, where buttons like 'Like' and 'Share' are located. When the screen lacks space, a button hides, altering the container's width. This triggers the system to think there's space again, causing the button to reappear. This causes an endless layout recalculation loop.

YouTube has released a mitigation so this issue should be fixed now.

Your Phone Number can easily be leaked on Telegram due to this default setting

If you hide your number from your Telegram profile, it can still be obtained. You may ask, how? This is because of how Contact Discovery works on any messaging app (including WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, etc.).

If I save a random number on my phone that turns out to be yours, Telegram will automatically link the number to your profile. This is exploited by attackers, by saving thousands of numbers in the phone's contacts (with a .vcf file for a lot of numbers), and then syncing them in Telegram. If the contacts list contains your number, it'll be linked to your profile, and will be exposed.

This is how some people's numbers get leaked on Telegram as this option is set to "Everybody" by default.

If you want to prevent this, change "Who can find me by my number" to "My Contacts" in Privacy settings. This way, your number won't be linked to your profile as long as you don't have the attacker's number saved.

Apple agrees to pay iPhone owners $250 million for not delivering AI Siri

Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit, alleging Apple advertised that Apple Intelligence features would be available with the launch of the iPhone 16, but offered a significantly limited or entirely absent version of Apple Intelligence.

Those who bought an iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro between June 10th, 2024 and March 29th, 2025 in the US will be able to submit a claim and receive $25, which may decrease or increase up to $95 per device, depending on claim volume and other factors.

Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model without consent

Google Chrome downloads a 4 GB on-device AI model file called weights.bin in the OptGuideOnDeviceModel folder without any consent or setting. This is the weights for Gemini Nano, Google's on-device LLM. If the file is deleted, Chrome will re-download it.

This download triggers when Chrome's AI features are active, even if you're not "using" any AI feature. The AI features are turned on by default in newer Chrome versions.

Here's how you can solve the bot problem on your channel

Figured out something really funny today. While posting the last OpenAI phone post, I accidently only sent the image, without adding any caption. After this, I edited the post to add caption. Surprisingly, not a single bot sent a comment.

To test this, I sent a test message with text only, under which two bots commented (I deleted my post quickly). Then I only posted an image, under which no bot commented.

As far as I can comprehend, this is because these bots using LLMs don't analyze the images posted on the channel, just the text.

So, to avoid the bots in your posts, post only the image, then later edit the post and add your caption.

Does this solve the issue of reaction bots? I don't know

Jokes aside, never ever reveal your private information in a public group, especially your city and phone number.

That's like the basic rule of using the Internet.

Microsoft finally added libperf on Windows!

Microsoft is testing a feature called Low Latency Profile in Windows 11, which briefly boosts CPU performance for 1–3 seconds during high-priority actions like launching apps. This improves responsiveness, particularly on budget PCs, as seen in tests where CPU usage spiked up to 96–97% temporarily. The feature could significantly enhance performance on low-end machines.
