A flagship initiative by *APEDA* , *BHARATI* is fostering an export-first ecosystem for India's agri-food startups by promoting innovation, technology, incubation and global market readiness.

Through the Farm to Foreign vision, the initiative aims to strengthen India's agricultural and processed food exports while creating globally competitive, sustainable and trusted agri-food enterprises.

Did you know a tiny 500 ml bottle can save the Indian government over ₹17,000 crore annually?

As agriculture students, understanding Nano DAP is crucial—it not only reduces farming costs but also protects India's foreign exchange and boosts national infrastructure.

The Heavy Burden of Subsidy and Imports

Farmers buy a 50 kg DAP bag for ₹1,350, but its actual cost in the international market is between ₹2,400 and ₹2,900.

The government pays a massive subsidy of approximately ₹1,565 per bag, pushing the total fertilizer subsidy budget to ₹1.77 lakh crore.

India imports about 50 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT)—nearly two-thirds of its total DAP demand—meaning taxpayer subsidy money goes directly to suppliers in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Russia, and China.

Conventional DAP vs. Nano DAP (The Facts)

Packaging & Price: A 50 kg bag of conventional DAP costs ₹1,350. A 500 ml bottle of Nano DAP costs just ₹600.

Government Subsidy: The conventional bag carries a ~₹1,565 subsidy burden, while Nano DAP is completely unsubsidized (₹0 subsidy).

Nutrient Efficiency: Conventional DAP has an efficiency of only 25-30%, as much of it gets fixed in the soil or washes away. Nano DAP particles are under 100 nanometers, allowing direct absorption through plant leaves for 90%+ efficiency.

Crop Yield (ICAR Trials): Extensive trials show an all-India average yield increase of 5.71% with Nano DAP, including up to a 34.8% jump in wheat yields.

How India Wins Economically

Massive Financial Savings: Shifting just 10% of national consumption to Nano Urea and Nano DAP will save the government ₹17,000 to ₹18,000 crore annually.

National Development: The money saved from foreign imports can be redirected to build rural schools, modern hospitals, and roads across India.

How to Guide Farmers (ICAR Protocol)

Do not eliminate conventional DAP entirely; one bottle replaces 50% of the crop's phosphorus requirement.

Apply 50% conventional DAP as a basal dose in the soil.

Follow up with two foliar sprays of Nano DAP: once at the tillering (branching) stage and once at the pre-flowering stage.

Instead of spending ₹1,350 on a full bag, farmers spend ₹675 (half bag) + ₹600 (1 bottle) = ₹1,275, saving money while protecting yields.

Will you share this protocol in your local farmer WhatsApp groups today to encourage a half-plot trial?
