Ruling on saying “you/they did not deserve this”
It is not permissible to say this (i.e., the statement ‘you/they did not deserve this’)
because it is like objecting to Allaah, may He be exalted.
He knows best about the situation of His slaves, and He is Most Wise in what He decrees for them of health and sickness, richness and poverty, and so on.
What is prescribed is to say, “May Allaah grant him good health and heal him,”
and similar good phrases (that suit the situation of those afflicted and being tested)
May Allaah help all the Muslims to understand their religion and adhere to it steadfastly, for He is the Best to be asked.
[Majmoo’ Fataawaa Wa Maqaalaat Mutanawwi’ah Li Samaahat Al-Shaykh Al-‘Allaamah ‘Abd Al-‘Azeez Ibn ‘Abd-Allaah Ibn Baaz (rahimahillah), vol. 8, pg. 421 | IslamQAinfo, no. 12867 | ruling-on-saying-you-dont-deserve-this-to-one-who-is-sick]

Teach them (your children) that which is obligatory to learn from the religion:
Anas ibn Malik (radiyAllahu ‘anhuma) related that the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim” (Ibn Maajah, no. 224)
With caution not to allow the children to travel outside even for studies until he has been strengthened by knowledge of the Shari’ah and marriage to a righteous wife.

If Allaah decrees that a fire should occur, then some scholars regard it as mustahabb to say takbeer whilst putting it out, and they say that saying takbeer at the time of a fire will help in extinguishing it and prevent its harm.
A hadeeth concerning that was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas, saying that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “If you see a fire, then say takbeer, for takbeer will extinguish it.”
[Narrated by Ibn al-Sunni in ‘Aml al-Yawm wa’l-Laylah (295) and by al-Tabaraani in al-Du’aa’ (1/307). But it is a weak hadeeth. See al-Silsilah al-Da’eefah by al-Albaani (2603)]
Ibn Taymiyah (rahimahullah) said:
Hence the slogan of the prayers, the adhaan and the Eids is the takbeer,
and it is mustahabb to say it in high places such as al-Safa and al-Marwah, when a person climbs up a hill or rides his mount and so on.
With it fires are extinguished
even if they are great,
and at the time of the adhaan (in which takbeer is said) the shaytaan flees. End quote.
[al-Fataawa al-Kubra (5/188)]
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
Because a fire is caused by the substance of the shaytaan from which he was created, and it causes some general destruction which befits the shaytaan and his substance and actions, the shaytaan helped with it and played some role in it, fire by its very nature seeks to dominate and destroy.
These two matters – domination of the earth and destruction – are the way of the shaytaan to which he calls people, and by means of which he destroys the sons of Adam.
Fire and the shaytaan both seek to dominate on earth and spread corruption and destruction, but the might of the Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, suppresses the shaytaan and his actions.
Hence magnifying Allaah (by saying takbeer) has an effect in extinguishing fires,
for nothing can resist the might of Allaah,
may He be glorified and exalted.
When the Muslim magnifies his Lord,
his takbeer has the effect of suppressing the fire and the shaytaan who is made of its substance, so the fire is extinguished.
We ourselves and others have tried this, and we have found it to be so.
And Allaah knows best.
[Zaad al-Ma’aad (4/194)]

A witness writes:
Teach fire brigades in Muslim countries to say “Allahu Akbar” when putting out fires.
I witnessed many fires. One of them was in a small warehouse that was not extinguished until after (7) hours of continuous water pumping. The water was directed to the fire and nothing changed its condition.
Another person videoed a place where fire broke out and the flames were extinguished through the takbir!
Another witness writes:
We too have witnessed this about Takbeer in case of fire breaking out.
Look at the simplicity of the supplication. It is simply saying al-takbir. In case of fire, no one is in their right mind nor do they have the time to think what to say. The takbir is most appropriate for someone in that state of mind.
Instinctively say the Takbeer in case of fires. Adults, children everyone should be taught this.

Narrated Abu Huraira (Raḍiya 'llāhu ʿan-hu) , The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
Perish the slave of Dinar and Dirham, of Qatifa (thick soft cloth), and Khamisa (a garment), for if he is given it, he is pleased; otherwise he is dissatisfied.
Let such a person perish and relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, let him not find anyone to take it out for him.
Paradise is for him who
holds the reins of his horse to strive in Allah's Cause, with his hair unkempt and feet covered with dust:
if he is appointed in the vanguard (a lower position in combat), he is perfectly satisfied with his post of guarding,
and if he is appointed in the rearward, he accepts his post with satisfaction;
(he is so simple, unknown, and unambiguous that) if he asks for permission he is not permitted,
and if he intercedes (for someone), his intercession is not accepted.

Giving Charity on Fridays
● Ka'b al-Ahbar (rahimahullah) said:
The sun has neither risen nor set on a day greater than the day of Friday,
and charity given on it is greater than on other days.
[Sahih Musannaf of 'Abd Ar-Razzaq (rahimahullah), 5558]
● al-A‘mash narrated from Mujahid, from ‘Abdullah ibn Damrah,
from Ka‘b (rahimahumullah) who said:
Charity is multiplied on Friday.
[Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah, 2/57, no. 6, Maktabah Islamiyyah]
● Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
Giving charity on Friday has a special merit compared to other days,
just as giving charity during the month of Ramadan has a higher merit compared to the rest of the year.
I witnessed Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah)
when he would go out for Jumuaah,
he would take whatever he found at home—be it bread or anything else—and give it as charity in secret on his way.
I heard him say:
“If Allah commanded us to give charity before consulting with the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) (58:12),
then giving charity before consulting with Allah is even more virtuous and deserving of merit.”
[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Maad, 1/399]
● Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
If the one giving charity
knew
that his charity landed in the Hand of Allah,
before the hand of the poor person,
the pleasure of the giver would be greater than the pleasure of the receiver.

Abu Huraira (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) reported Allah's Messenger (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as saying:
No one gives sadaqah (charity) of a date out of his honest earning, except that Allah accepts it with His Right Hand, and then fosters it as one of you fosters the colt or a young she-camel, till it becomes like a mountain or even greater.
[Sahih Muslim, 1014b, Book 12, Hadith 80]
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:
“Charity (sadaqah) reaches (lit. falls into) the Hand of Allah before it falls into the hand of the one who asks for it.” (i.e., Allah Ta’ala accepts it), he (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) then recited the Verse:
{(Do they not know that Allah) accepts repentance from His servants and takes their charities”} — Surah Tawbah, 9:104
[Tafsir at-Tabari (rahimahullah); Jami’ul Bayan, Surah Tawbah, Verse: 104, vol. 11, pg. 666, see also: Majma az-Zawaid, vol. 3, pg. 111, Hadith: 4677]
Abu Hurairah (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) narrated that :
the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Indeed Allah accepts charity, and He accepts it with His Right (Hand) to nurture it for one of you, just like one of you would nurture his foal, until the bite (of food) becomes as large as Uhud."
[Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 662, Chapter 28: What Has Been Related About the Virtue of Charity, Graded: Hasan Sahih]
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyAllahu ‘anhu):
"Indeed, charity* (sadaqah) reaches (lit. falls into) the Hand of Allah before it reaches the hand of the one who asks,"
then he recited:
{And He it is Who accepts repentance* from His servants} — ash-Shura: 25, the verse.

It Is narrated on the authority of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) that
the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), observed:
“He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise.”
A person (amongst his hearers) said: “Verily a person loves that his dress should be fine, and his shoes should be fine.”
He (the Prophet) remarked: “Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people.”
[Sahih Muslim 91 a]
'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) reported:
The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, "He who has, in his heart, an ant's weight of arrogance will not enter Jannah."
Someone said: "A man likes to wear beautiful clothes and shoes?"
Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, "Allah is Beautiful, He loves beauty. Arrogance means ridiculing and rejecting the Truth and despising people."

The Amazing, Strange and Miraculous Nature of Sadaqah
Abu Hurayrah (radiyAllahu ‘anhu) reported

Charity does not (ever) decrease one's wealth…
[Saheeh Muslim, 2588]
Every Promise of Allah is True
{يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ}
O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true.
So let not this present life deceive you,
nor let the chief deceiver (satan) deceive you about Allah (His promises).
[Surah Fatir, 35:5]
“And who is truer in statement than Allah?” (4:87)
Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) comments:
meaning, no one utters more truthful statements than Allah, in His promises, warnings, stories of the past and information of what is to come;
there is no deity worthy of worship nor Lord except Him
[Tafsir Ibn Kathīr (rahimahillāh), Surah Nisa, verse 87]

in regards to worldly matters as
you will not find people envying those who pray at night or those who frequently fast, neither do they envy scholars for their knowledge, rather they envy those who have fame (amenities).
