Tuhan Allah Kita Yang Kudus

"Kudus, kudus, kuduslah Tuhan Allah, Yang Mahakuasa," Jimi dan Yuli menyanyi sekeras mungkin. Mereka bermain gereja-gerejaan di tangga menuju teras rumah. Jimi bermain sebagai pendetanya.

"Saya akan mengatakan kepada Anda mengapa Allah itu kudus," kata Jimi yang mulai berpura-pura menjadi pendeta kepada Yuli, tetapi dia tidak tahu bagaimana melanjutkannya. Jadi dia masuk ke rumah menemui ibunya.

"Bu, kudus itu apa?" tanyanya.

"Allah itu kudus," kata ibunya. "Artinya, Allah tidak berdosa. Allah tidak pernah melakukan kesalahan apa pun. Segala sesuatu yang dilakukan Allah itu benar."

"Apa Ibu kudus?" tanya Jimi

"Tidak," katanya. "Kita sering melakukan hal yang tidak boleh kita lakukan, dan kita sering tidak melakukan apa yang perlu kita lakukan. Tapi Allah selalu melakukan apa yang benar. Dia kudus. Dia sempurna."

"Malaikat Allah juga kudus," kata Jimi, mengingat apa yang didengarnya di sekolah minggu.

"Ya", kata ibunya, "tapi manusia tidak kudus. Mereka melakukan hal-hal yang salah. Kamu kadang-kadang nakal, kan? Karena semua orang berdosa, mereka tidak kudus. Mereka perlu pengampunan Allah."

"Tetapi bukankah kita kudus ketika Allah mengampuni kita?" tanya Jimi.

"Betul," kata ibunya. "Yesus menghapus segala dosa-dosa kita dan menguduskan kita. Tapi hanya Allah sajalah yang kudus dalam segala tindakan-Nya."

The Roman Catholic Church likes to pretend that the things they do are the things that they’ve always done, and that is far from the truth.
