The Maker Space platform is a part of American Corners, where citizens can explore new ideas and
develop new skills. It is a technology hub that encourages learning by doing and creative problem-
solving through technology.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Maker Space Coordinator is a key member of the Kazakhstan American Corners team. The
Coordinator works full-time to direct the development and implementation of Maker Space programs in
cooperation with the U.S. Embassy, the Chevron Corporation, and other local partners. Maker Space
coordinator’s workplace will be set at the library, where American Corners are located.

Kazakhstan students get creative with STEAM: highlights from the second week of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Online Course

As part of week two of the STEAM Online Course, sixty-six students from across Kazakhstan took their first steps into the world of programming.
⠀
Participants explored the Scratch interface and learned about Binary Code. The project of the week was to create a collage of their hobbies, interests and favorite things. Also, cats have been a significant part of the STEAM Course. And it looks like we created a story of our cat using all participants’ posts from their Scratch.

Dear high school students,
This is the first time when we are doing a full analysis of the successful application with the admissions officer and the student. Temirlan Sabyrbayev, admitted to DKU, will show his Common App, Application Essay, and Supplemental Essay. Dr. Davis will explain what attracted him in this application, what worked well, and what could be improved. You will understand not only how to fill out an application but also how colleges read them.
