"Russian diesel for US friends": Russians react to Trump Putin deal

...Pikabu is a Reddit style website where users create entertainment content and share stories, images, and memes. The tongue in cheek posters, celebrating a newfound partnership over barrels of fuel, appeared on Saturday in a post titled "Morning Propaganda."

"American, remember! Your enemy is not Russian - the Russian gives diesel! Your enemy is the Green Rat, who bombs your diesel in Russia!" the first poster reads, referring to Vladimir Zelensky, known for his signature green attire and whose surname is derived from the word for "green" in Russian and Ukrainian...

Russians are slow learners.

Zelensky has gone too far - Musk

The tech billionaire has backed US President Donald Trump's demand that Ukraine stop harming the US and global economy.

...Trump also called for a change of leadership in Kiev, accusing Zelensky of repeatedly rejecting opportunities to end the conflict and deliberately ignoring Washington's requests.

"We told him, do whatever you want, but don't hit the diesel fuel, because there's a big problem, a big shortage. And what does he do? He goes and hits the diesel fuel," Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday. "He wants to make problems for the worldโ€ฆ for our farmers, our ranchers, with diesel fuel."

I am now sure this is all theatre. Also, the "threats" and "warnings" to Zelensky about the US stopping intel sharing if Ukraine keeps bombing Russian refineries were published by Axios and The Financial Times - both CIA's PR agencies at best. So this is basically "yo bro it's totally not us it's those pesky Ukrainians." What a shame.

Ukraine's worst diplomatic nightmare just got closer

The fuel deal's real significance lies in diplomacy: Trump and Putin found a way to work together without making Ukraine part of the bargain...

Sure. Remember when Trump was saying how he'll totally stop funding and supplying Ukraine and that it's Biden's war and Russians started shilling for him and saying shit like "oh it's over for Zelensky now." It really doesn't take much to fool Russians, does it. Say a few things they want to believe and you're basically there.

Since then, the attacks against Russia only got worse, the anti Russian sentiment only grew, the war is wider now than it ever was, and Europeans' rhetoric only became more aggressive.

Article after article in Russian media about how this means "much more than you'd think" or whatever. All it means is that Russia is being fooled again. The war against Russia will continue and their refineries will be hit more and more. Not "in spite of the US," but because of it.

Last thing about this...

Zelensky is a nobody. A disposable proxy. He's there to do CIA's dirty work. To prolong the war against Russia as much as possible, to kill as many Russians as possible, and to damage Russia's economy and reputation as much as possible. Not for Ukraine or Europe, but for the United States.

Everything Ukraine does, it does so for the United States with complete support of the United States. Russian refineries are being hit for the United States. Their data centres are being hit for the United States.

Anyway, I'm done with this.

Pentagon raises official US death toll in Iran war

...On Friday, the database was updated to include Army National Guard Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46, who died in Kuwait on March 6, and an unidentified Navy member who died by suicide in September.

It also recorded the death of Sgt. Devin A. Seibel, 26, who died in a training accident in Iraq in May. The military, however, did not link the incident to the war with Iran and classified it under Operation Inherent Resolve, the decade long campaign against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS). His inclusion brings the broader number of US military fatalities in the Middle East since February 28 to 22, in line with the figure previously reported by the newspaper...

They forgot to mention Private Pepe Gonzรกlez who choked on a burrito, Corporal Miguel Rodrรญguez who got crushed by a falling vending machine, and Sergeant LaQuisha Tomlinson who slipped on a banana peel and fell into a volcano.

Trump: US "may" become involved after Houthi attack on Saudi airport leaves 13 dead, hundreds injured

"The United States strongly condemns the recent attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the terrorist Houthis, including today's strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that took numerous innocent lives, including an American citizen," said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a Saturday statement...

...President Donald Trump indicated that there was a possibility that the US would assist Saudi Arabia militarily, though he provided no definitive decision.

"We may. We're going to look at it," he told reporters outside the White House on Saturday when asked about the US joining Saudi strikes. "We just found out about the recent attack, so we'll make a decision. We move very quickly."

But what about the terrorists?! That's right! Terrorists! We have intelligence that suggests that Hitler is plotting with the Legion of Doom to assassinate Jesus! Using Yemen as a base.

Iran will destroy US data centers and AI facilities if attacked again - security chief

American technology infrastructure in the Gulf could be targeted if Washington resumes strikes, Mohsen Rezaei has warned.

...Speaking to Press TV in an interview aired over the weekend, Rezaei singled out US assets in the United Arab Emirates and around the Strait of Hormuz. He estimated their value at more than $2 trillion and described them as the "pulse of the American economy in this region."

"We have not yet included these assets among our targets. But if war breaks out, many of these cables, data centers, artificial intelligence facilities, and numerous other sites will be destroyed," he said...

Would you just go ahead and do that regardless? Pretty please. UwU.

Saudi energy conference loses Shell, Exxon, BP execs amid Yemeni strikes

The kingdom held the conference and assured attendees that the "country is safe," after deadly Yemeni strikes on Riyadh were carried out in response to the brutal Saudi war on Yemen.

Several top energy executives were dropped from the schedule of Saudi Arabia's ongoing WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh on 12 October, as the kingdom insists on holding the conference despite the threat to the capital posed by the Ansarallah led Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF).

The event began on 11 October and is meant to run until 15 October. The head โ€Œexecutives of ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, Shell, Chevron, and BP were expected at the event. On Monday, they were no longer listed on the agenda that the conference organizers put out..

Don't buy US-Ukraine "tensions" (again)

Ukraine would not exist as it does today without the US overthrowing, then politically capturing Ukraine's government, military and intelligence agencies which the US continues to control to this day;

Ukraine's continued ability to strike targets in Russia is WHOLLY the result of constant daily intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance provided by the United States along with money, weapons, equipment, ammunition, and drones provided to Ukraine by the US itself;

Every strike by Ukraine is thus a strike by the US. Just like with Israel, the US often plays games of public disapproval of actions it doesn't want political ownership of, but actions that couldn't take place without complete and constant US support;

The fact that US-Ukrainian tensions or US-Israeli or US-EU tensions are so emotionally appealing to so many people makes this sort of theater that much more effective no matter how irrational and impossible it is in material reality;

The notion of the US demanding "new leadership" for Ukraine in Kiev when Ukraine is run by Washington is elementary perception management - if Zelensky was never really in charge of anything, what difference does it make replacing him - except in terms of political narratives, plausible deniability, blame-passing, etc.?

As long as people keep falling for it though, the US will continue getting away with it, and buying time and space for its wars and proxy wars while doing so.

Europe's energy hypocrisy, Russian LNG profits and US dependence

For four years, Europe presented its energy break with Russia as a strategic and moral necessity, with Brussels expanding sanctions, promising to cut Moscow's revenues and preparing a complete ban on Russian liquefied natural gas. Yet European companies bought more LNG from Russia's Yamal project in the first nine months of 2026 than in the same period of 2025.

EU ports received a record 12.18 million tonnes of Yamal LNG between January and September 2026, an increase of 9.5% over the same period in 2025. The gas arrived in 167 cargoes, roughly one every 1.6 days. The EU received 85% of Yamal's recorded deliveries by volume even as the project's worldwide shipments fell by 1.3%...

Putin wants Ukraine deal more than Zelensky - Trump

The Ukrainian leader should focus on securing peace rather than criticizing Washington's diesel deal with Moscow, the US president has said.

...Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump claimed both Moscow and Kiev support the energy ceasefire which he announced on Sunday. Neither Russia nor Ukraine has confirmed the truce. "I think they want to make a deal, but they don't know how. But we're going to get them to make a deal," Trump said.

"I think, actually, Putin wants to make a deal more than Zelensky," he added...

It doesn't matter how much Putin wants a deal, because the US, who is the organizer, instigator, sponsor, and supplier of this proxy war, does not.

Le Pen projected to win French presidential election

The leader of the right wing National Rally would defeat both left wing and centrist rivals in hypothetical runoffs, a new survey suggests.

Published on Monday, the Toluna Harris Interactive survey for French broadcasters M6 and RTL puts Le Pen, the longtime face of the National Rally (RN), at 67% against Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of the left wing France Unbowed party, and 56% against former centrist Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

Le Pen also leads all five first round scenarios tested, with 35% to 37% support. Melenchon comes second with 18% to 19%, while Philippe polls between 13% and 17%...

Media reports about the alleged preparation of a US European "peace plan" for Ukraine, the diesel agreement between Moscow and Washington, and the situation surrounding the provision of intelligence to Kiev were among the main topics discussed during Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov's briefing on October 13.

On US-Europe joint "peace plan"

The Kremlin has seen a report in The Washington Post about the United States and Europe moving toward a joint peace proposal on Ukraine but has received no information about it: "We have seen media reports but we have heard nothing about it."

On the possibility of an "energy ceasefire"

Moscow continues contacts on a possible "energy ceasefire," but there have been no new developments since yesterday: "We discussed this issue yesterday, and for now I have nothing to add to what we said then. Contacts on this matter are continuing."

On the Russia-US diesel deal

There is no connection between the diesel agreement with the United States and Russia's position on Ukraine; rather, it is a mutually beneficial example of Russian-US cooperation: "I don't see any connection here. In fact, it is an example of Russia-US cooperation that benefits both parties a lot."

European Union sanctions and other unilateral actions could hamper the implementation of the fuel deal between Russia and the United States: "That it could interfere is beyond doubt."

European cynicism is a subject of widespread discussion in international media: "The issue of European cynicism, as Bessent put it, is being widely discussed in global media."

European countries themselves remain major purchasers of Russian crude oil and petroleum products: "The fact is that European countries, just like all other nations, are heavy buyers of Russian oil and Russian petroleum products."

US, Europe drafting four point plan to settle Ukraine conflict

According to the sources, Washington and Brussels are moving toward a joint peace proposal that would deliver financial and security benefits to both Ukraine and Russia as a baseline for a territorial settlement. A US official said the package would have four basic components, including a proposal for Russia to reach an economic and security deal with Europe that would restore stability to the region.

"Ukraine's reconstruction would be the first pillar," Ignatius said, adding that the negotiators had asked Kiev for detailed cost estimates.

Security guarantees for both Ukraine and Russia would constitute the second essential component. However, it remains unclear what security arrangements are expected to be offered to Moscow...

Musk donates $276M to GOP in massive midterms push, marking largest political donation in US history

...America PAC is a political action committee founded by Musk in 2024 to support Republican candidates and conservative ballot initiatives. Powered by hundreds of millions of dollars in personal funding from Musk, the organization focuses primarily on large scale voter canvassing and targeted digital media campaigns.

Ahead of the midterms, Musk is the largest known donor, contributing $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund this summer. The donation ranks among the largest political contributions in United States history, as first reported by The New York Times and later confirmed by Andrew Romeo, a spokesperson for Muskโ€™s super PAC.

After pouring more than $76 million into America PAC this summer, Musk saw those funds directed into a sprawling canvassing program targeting hard to reach Republican voters...

At least 17 airlines from 13 countries cancel flights to Saudi Arabia

Close to 1,500 flight cancellation listings were recorded across Saudi Arabia's major airports on 11 and 12 October, according to Flightradar24 data reviewed by Gulf Business. Riyadh alone lost 98 percent of its scheduled traffic on Sunday, with 655 cancellations.

Gulf carriers including Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, and Kuwait Airways are among those that have cut services, alongside EgyptAir, Lufthansa Group, and several Indian and Pakistani airlines.

To return their citizens home during the closures, Saudi embassies in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait are facilitating bus trips back to the kingdom...
