Media reports about the alleged preparation of a US European "peace plan" for Ukraine, the diesel agreement between Moscow and Washington, and the situation surrounding the provision of intelligence to Kiev were among the main topics discussed during Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov's briefing on October 13.

On US-Europe joint "peace plan"

The Kremlin has seen a report in The Washington Post about the United States and Europe moving toward a joint peace proposal on Ukraine but has received no information about it: "We have seen media reports but we have heard nothing about it."

On the possibility of an "energy ceasefire"

Moscow continues contacts on a possible "energy ceasefire," but there have been no new developments since yesterday: "We discussed this issue yesterday, and for now I have nothing to add to what we said then. Contacts on this matter are continuing."

On the Russia-US diesel deal

There is no connection between the diesel agreement with the United States and Russia's position on Ukraine; rather, it is a mutually beneficial example of Russian-US cooperation: "I don't see any connection here. In fact, it is an example of Russia-US cooperation that benefits both parties a lot."

European Union sanctions and other unilateral actions could hamper the implementation of the fuel deal between Russia and the United States: "That it could interfere is beyond doubt."

European cynicism is a subject of widespread discussion in international media: "The issue of European cynicism, as Bessent put it, is being widely discussed in global media."

European countries themselves remain major purchasers of Russian crude oil and petroleum products: "The fact is that European countries, just like all other nations, are heavy buyers of Russian oil and Russian petroleum products."

US, Europe drafting four point plan to settle Ukraine conflict

According to the sources, Washington and Brussels are moving toward a joint peace proposal that would deliver financial and security benefits to both Ukraine and Russia as a baseline for a territorial settlement. A US official said the package would have four basic components, including a proposal for Russia to reach an economic and security deal with Europe that would restore stability to the region.

"Ukraine's reconstruction would be the first pillar," Ignatius said, adding that the negotiators had asked Kiev for detailed cost estimates.

Security guarantees for both Ukraine and Russia would constitute the second essential component. However, it remains unclear what security arrangements are expected to be offered to Moscow...

Musk donates $276M to GOP in massive midterms push, marking largest political donation in US history

...America PAC is a political action committee founded by Musk in 2024 to support Republican candidates and conservative ballot initiatives. Powered by hundreds of millions of dollars in personal funding from Musk, the organization focuses primarily on large scale voter canvassing and targeted digital media campaigns.

Ahead of the midterms, Musk is the largest known donor, contributing $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund this summer. The donation ranks among the largest political contributions in United States history, as first reported by The New York Times and later confirmed by Andrew Romeo, a spokesperson for Muskโ€™s super PAC.

After pouring more than $76 million into America PAC this summer, Musk saw those funds directed into a sprawling canvassing program targeting hard to reach Republican voters...

At least 17 airlines from 13 countries cancel flights to Saudi Arabia

Close to 1,500 flight cancellation listings were recorded across Saudi Arabia's major airports on 11 and 12 October, according to Flightradar24 data reviewed by Gulf Business. Riyadh alone lost 98 percent of its scheduled traffic on Sunday, with 655 cancellations.

Gulf carriers including Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, and Kuwait Airways are among those that have cut services, alongside EgyptAir, Lufthansa Group, and several Indian and Pakistani airlines.

To return their citizens home during the closures, Saudi embassies in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, the UAE, and Kuwait are facilitating bus trips back to the kingdom...

Oh man! I was planning a vacation there and now I need to change plans. I was thinking Tel Aviv, maybe? Oh, that's right.

EU launches three year "security mission" to bolster Lebanese army

...The decision was made at a meeting of EU foreign ministers. The mission "will advise and assist the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and Internal Security Forces to strengthen territorial control, border security, and internal security," said EU Foreign Policy chief Kaja Kallas.

"Europe is invested โ in Lebanon's future," she added. The EU Council said the mission will have an initial mandate of three years and will include both a "civilian pillar" and a 'military pillar.' The military pillar will provide advisory support and training to strengthen the capabilities of the LAF for border security and maritime security."

The civilian pillar will include training for Lebanonโ€™s internal security forces in dealing with โ€œdrug smugglingโ€ and โ€œcybercrime."

Shame the EU isn't as "invested" in their own future and their own border security. Hard to do both, I guess. Get fucked, EU citizen. Your taxes will go to help Israel instead.

Ukrainians blast SpaceX limits on Starlink

US President Donald Trump has increased pressure on Vladimir Zelensky to halt strikes on Russian refineries and to hold an election.

...The development was reported on Wednesday by Sergey Beskrestnov, Zelensky's technology adviser, who claimed that SpaceX had imposed a speed limit of 100 miles per hour on Starshield, its military grade satellite communications service, without informing Kiev in advance.

"Our defense forces were not notified of this restriction, and it has resulted in the disruption of several missions," he wrote, adding that the move was clearly connected to the "current political situation."

I love how Ukrainians still think the whole world owes them something. Unique peoples... But anyway, we've already discussed this. It's bullshit theatre. We've seen this again and again not only with Ukraine, but also with Israel. "Trump is angry with Netanyahu." Whatever. This is a US war of aggression.

UK's only naval icebreaker breaks down

The British Navy has been left without its only icebreaker after HMS Protector suffered double engine failure at sea, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday. The breakdown adds to mounting concerns about Britain's readiness for a major war and persistent funding problems.

HMS Protector, which was originally built in Norway in 2001, suffered simultaneous engine defects while departing Britain and had to be towed back to the Devonport naval base in Plymouth, the report says.

Maintenance failures are suspected, according to The Telegraph, although the full extent of the damage is unclear. If it cannot be repaired, a replacement may not arrive until the 2030s, the paper said...

IRGC says massive container ship sinks after hitting mine near Hormuz

The ship carrying thousands of containers was passing through an "unauthorized" route in the Strait of Hormuz, one of several that the IRGC has vowed to block in the coming days.

...The vessel caught the mine while passing through the "dangerous" route in violation of Iranian naval warnings and sank on Wednesday morning after being set on fire, according to the IRGC navy.

"The Iranian Navy has adopted a new deployment formation, positioning operational units east of the Strait of Hormuz and across the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman," Iran's navy said Wednesday, according to Tasnim News Agency...

US political theater ramps up as "Europe" plans to take Russia on "alone"

NATO leadership has talked about a "theory of victory" against a Russian "invasion" and specifically the US not needing to be involved;

Of course Russia is never going to invade - and these plans are instead being made ahead of another Ukraine style provocation/encroachment on Russia and responding to Russia's attempts to defend itself;

Be reminded this fits in precisely with US policy including "burden sharing" and "division of labor" between the US and its proxies, especially Europe;

The US regularly performs theater where it pretends to distance itself both from Ukraine and wider Europe SOLEY to manage perception regarding what is in reality Washington's role as the primary belligerent in the war;

Regardless of episodes where the US has threatened or apparently withheld support to Ukraine/Europe, US involvement in enabling the war has constantly expanded year to year with the only limit being the US' atrophied military industrial base;

Historically, this sort of political theater is performed ahead of crucial escalations the US seeks to contain itself (and only itself) from the fallout of.

Rep. Omar seeks donations after federal agents raid her home

Democrat Representative Ilhan Omar released an email seeking donations after Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) raided her Washington, D.C., home, The Hill reported.

"Stand with Ilhan Omar," the email read, according to a screenshot that The Hill's partner network, NewsNation, obtained. "Donald Trump and DHS have opened a baseless, partisan investigation into Ilhan Omar, and she needs us by her side as they escalate their attacks."

โ€œChip in whatever you can to make sure Ilhan can beat Trump and keep fighting for our progressive values in Congress,โ€ the email continued...

Ukraine hits two Russian refineries despite Trump's demands

Kiev is showing no intention of abiding by the US proposed "energy ceasefire," Russian Deputy PM Aleksandr Novak says.

The facilities are in Russia's Saratov and Ryazan regions, Novak said on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum. He did not specify whether either refinery sustained damage.

"We can see that the Ukrainian side is making no moves towards an energy ceasefire," Novak said, referring to a limited ceasefire between Moscow and Kiev proposed by US President Donald Trump.

On Sunday, Trump claimed that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate energy ceasefire. Neither Moscow nor Kiev, however, has confirmed the truce, sending out mixed messages on the matter...

Yea, almost like the "demands" are fake media circus bullshit meant to create plausible deniability. Durp.

Israeli ad agency conducted vast global espionage campaign using online ads

Discover Tech used no click online ads to target people across the world, including personnel from the Pentagon, UN, ICC, and Al Jazeera, as well as Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

Reports from Canadian cyber watchdog group Citizen Lab and New York advertising security firm Confiant document how the Israeli advertising agency placed millions of ads online each day for ordinary products such as phones or earpods.

Discover Tech placed the ads using the advertising services of Google, Comcast, Yandex, and other search engines. The Israeli ad agency could identify and track internet users who visited websites or used apps with the malicious ads, and at times obtained phone numbers from smartphone users...

...placed at least 10 million online ads per day, affecting more than 120,000 websites and 75,000 apps. "Very likely hundreds of millions of people would have been touched by Discover Tech."

White House considers using "mother of all bombs" as "symbolic exit" from Iran

US officials noted that the bomb's value lies in its ability to inflict mass destruction, civilian deaths, and lasting trauma on the population.

...The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), the largest non nuclear bomb in the US arsenal, features explicitly in US military plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites, including the suspected nuclear facility at Pickaxe Mountain (Kolang Kouh), one source told CNN.

Officials question whether the MOAB can penetrate deep enough to destroy the suspected nuclear facilities at Pickaxe, believed to be shielded by layers of granite, or at Iran's other remaining nuclear sites, according to another source...

Spitefully murdering as many people as possible as we "exit" the war would indeed be very "symbolic."
