Pentagon facing up to $15 bn in Iran war base damages
Iranian missile and drone strikes have inflicted up to $15 billion in damage on military installations hosting American forces across the Middle East, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing sources and its own satellite imagery analysis. The massive destruction adds to the Pentagon's mounting war bill, which has already reached nearly $50 billion.
The newspaper's analysis identified a total of 274 damaged structures across 24 installations with an American military presence. At least 119 buildings at 13 installations were damaged in the opening two weeks alone; the US Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain was among the hardest hit. Tehran launched a retaliatory wave of strikes following the unprovoked US Israeli attack which started the conflict on February 28.

Canada's largest labor federation votes to block arms shipments bound for Israel
In a statement published on October 28, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), which represents some 3 million workers, called on its members to block the handling of all weapons and military equipment passing through Canada to Israel.
"The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Canadian Council has voted in support of a resolution calling on workers to refuse to handle weapons and military equipment destined for Israel," the statement reads.
The CLC added that it "stands in solidarity with Palestinian workers and their families, and with all those calling for peace, justice and respect for international law."

Democratic candidates have outspent their Republican rivals by $5.5 billion to $5.1 billion. Third party candidates have spent another $1.3 billion, it said.
Most of the spending came from outside political groups, dubbed Super Political Action Committees (Super PACS), backing the two parties, according to the monitor.
Entertainment is expensive.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on 3 November that Tehran is pursuing a regional security framework built by West Asian countries, free of any foreign military presence.
"We have no hostility toward the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council," Araghchi wrote on X, referring to his recent interview with Al Jazeera, adding "We appreciate the positive role played by Qatar and Oman and continue our dialogue with Saudi Arabia."
