"Wehrschach", also called "Tak-Tik", was a version of chess published by the German Army in 1937. It uses a board with 11 rows by 11 squares each, instead of the traditional 8x8. Its pieces are not queens, kings, or bishops, but modern infantry, armour, artillery (flak), etc.
