Let’s turn to a somewhat controversial figure who has completely lost his mind these days, but who made quite an impact back then:
David Cole / Stein.
Most people will be familiar with him, but today I’d like to focus on something about him that is less well known.
In 1995, he withdrew completely from revisionism and changed his name to David Stein.
In 2013, he was exposed and subsequently started recording podcasts and videos. On the anniversary of his ‘coming out’, he recorded an episode from his mattress-lined cellar about the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Museum of Tolerance (SWCMT).

In 1997, he received a phone call from a friend who told him that an ‘authentic’ film of a gas van, in which the Nazis were gassing children, was being shown at the SWCMT. As he knew that no such gas vans existed, his curiosity was piqued and, although he had been banned from the premises, he went there and actually discovered the film in the interactive learning centre.
He immediately realised it was a staged film and set out to find the producer. After a lengthy pre-internet search, he found the Polish film ‘Ambulans (62)’, made by Janusz Morgenstern. To avoid getting involved in the matter himself, he contacted Morgenstern, who was living in New York at the time, by telephone: “Wonderful film, *Ambulans* – so powerful and gas-vany. I saw it at the SWCMT; they’re showing it 24 hours a day, as I hope you know. They’ve cut out your name, which is strange. I hope they’re paying you royalties.”
He completely lost it and went off like a fire alarm; of course, they never told him this, and naturally they never paid him anything either. Morgenstern immediately forced them to remove the video. It would be interesting to know, given that Morgenstern died in 2011, whether it is being shown again today.
