It's not a silence.

It's a loud nothingness.

Surrounding the world as it drowns
In sin

Sin that's mindless pleasure
for some
And conscious agony for others

The laughs and cries
Mix terribly

Humming, constantly
Like a white noise from hell
Like dark, salty waves

Like trying to hear the party above
While you're gulping down water
Below

So loud is the crashing of this
Black ocean surrounding me

And yet, the loudness
Is saying nothing,
Except an obscene concoction
Of everything happening
Yet nothing, all at once

It's not a silence.

It's a loud nothingness.

And we never noticed it before

Because your voice
Once screamed louder
