قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
( أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ الأَصَابِعِ وَبَالِغْ فِي الاِسْتِنْشَاقِ إِلاَّ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا. )

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ التِّرمِذِي

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Perform ablution completely, let the water run between the fingers and toes, and snuff up water freely unless you are fasting."

عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بنِ عُبْيدِ اللَّهِ رضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهُ قال :
كان النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم إذا رأى الهلال قال :

{ اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ علَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ والإِيمَانِ ، وَالسَّلامَةِ والإِسْلامِ ، رَبِّي ورَبُّكَ اللَّه ، هِلالُ رُشْدٍ وخَيْرٍ. }

حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ رَوَاهُ أحمَد.


Talha bin Obaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him ) said,

Upon seeing the crescent of a new month, the Prophet (PBUH) used to supplicate:

"O Allah, let this crescent come out with security, faith, safety and Islam.
(O crescent!) Your Lord and mine is Allah. May this crescent be one of guidance and good."

Narrated by Ahmad.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
( مَنْ لَمْ يُبَيِّتْ الصِّيَامَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَلا صِيَامَ لَهُ ).

حديث صحيح رواه الترمذي.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Whoever doesn’t have the intention of fasting from the night before, his fasting will not be accepted."

Narrated by At-Tirmidhi.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
{ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ فَإِنَّهُ بَرَكَةٌ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ تَمْرًا فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى مَاءٍ فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ. }

رواه الترمذي.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"If anyone of you wants to break the fast, let him do it by having dates, for they are blessed. If he doesn't have any, then let him break the fast with water, for it is pure."

Narrated by Al Tirmidhi.

( الصِّيَامُ وَالْقُرْآنُ يَشْفَعَانِ لِلْعَبْدِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، يَقُولُ الصِّيَامُ: أَيْ رَبِّ مَنَعْتُهُ الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّهَوَاتِ بِالنَّهَارِ فَشَفِّعْنِي فِيهِ ، وَيَقُولُ: الْقُرْآنُ مَنَعْتُهُ النَّوْمَ بِاللَّيْلِ فَشَفِّعْنِي فِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَيُشَفَّعَانِ. )

حديث صحيح رواه أحمد.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Fasting and the Quran intercede for man (on the Day of Judgment). Fasting says, 'O Allah, I have deprived him of food and passions during the day, so accept my intercession for him.' The Quran says, 'I have deprived him of sleep at night, so accept my intercession for him.' So Allah accepts their intercessions."

[ تُعْرَضُ الْأَعْمَالُ يَوْمَ ‏الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُعْرَضَ عَمَلِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ. ]

حديث حسن رواه الترمذي.


The prophet ( PBUH ) said,

[ Deeds of people are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays So I like my deeds be presented while I am fasting. ]

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.

[ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ ، فَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ ، وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ ، وَمَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَكْذِبُ ، وَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللهِ كَذَّابًا. ]

رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيْ و مًسلِمٌ.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Refrain from lying, for lying leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to Hell-Fire, and a person who lies and persists in lying, will be recorded as a liar with Allah."

Narrated by Al Bukhary and Muslim.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

( أَحَبُّ الصَّلاَةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ صَلاَةُ دَاوُدَ، كَانَ يَنَامُ نِصْفَ اللَّيْلِ وَيَقُومُ ثُلُثَهُ وَيَنَامُ سُدُسَهُ. )

رَوَاه البُخَاري ومُسْلِم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"The most beloved prayer to Allah is that of (Prophet) Dawud. He used to sleep half the night, get up to perform prayer for one-third of it, then sleep through the remaining one-sixth of it."

Narrated by Bukhari and Mulism.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

( إِنَّ في الجنةِ غُرَفًا يُرَى ظَاهِرُها من باطِنِها و باطِنُها من ظَاهِرِها
قِيلَ: لِمَنْ هيَ يا رسولَ اللهِ ؟
قال : لِمَنْ أَطَابَ الكَلامَ ، و أَطْعَمَ الطَّعَامَ ، و باتَ قائِمًا و الناسُ نِيَامٌ. )

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاه الحاكم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"In paradise there are rooms the outside of which can be seen from within and the inside from outside. It was said, “for whom O Prophet.” He (PBUH) said "for those who speak gently, provide food, and pray during the night when people are asleep."

Narrated by Alhakem.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

{ مَنْ قَامَ بِعَشْرِ آيَاتٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ مِنْ الْغَافِلِينَ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ كُتِبَ مِنْ الْقَانِتِينَ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ بِأَلْفِ آيَةٍ كُتِبَ مِنْ الْمُقَنْطِرِينَ. }

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أبو داود.

الْقَانِتِينَ = الْمُوَاظِبِينَ عَلَى الطَّاعَةِ.
الْمُقَنْطِرِينَ = الْمُكْثِرِينَ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent;
If anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah;
And if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards."

Narrated by Abu Dawud.

عَن سالمِ بنِ عبدِاللهِ بنِ عُمَرَ بنِ الخَطَّابِ رضي الله عنهم، عَن أَبِيِه: أَنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:

{ نِعْمَ الرَّجلُ عبدُ اللهِ لَو كانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ .}
قالَ سالِمٌ: فَكَانَ عَبْدُاللهِ بعْدَ ذلكَ لاَ يَنَامُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلًا.

رَوَاهُ البخاري و مسلم.

Salim bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) reported, on the authority of his father, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said,

["What an excellent man 'Abdullah is if only he could perform optional prayers at night."
Salim said, "After this, (his father) 'Abdullah slept very little at night."]

Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ صَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

{ مَنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ , وَأَيْقَظَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَصَلَّيَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ جَمِيعًا ، كُتِبَا لَيْلَتَهُمَا مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ اللهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ. }

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أبو داود.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"When a man himself wakes up at night and wakens his wife, and they pray two rak'ahs together, they are recorded among the men and women who make much mention of Allah."

Narrated by Abu Dawud.

عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بن يزيد رضي الله عنه قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ؟.

قَالَتْ: { كَانَ يَنَامُ أَوَّلَهُ وَيَقُومُ آخِرَهُ ، فَيُصَلِّي. }

رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيْ و مًسلِمٌ.

Al-Aswad bin Yazeed ( May Allah be pleased with him ) narrated that, I asked `Aisha ( May Allah be pleased with her ) How is the night prayer of the Prophet ( PBUH )?.

She replied, "He used to sleep early at night, and get up in its last part to pray."

Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ الله عَنْها قالَتْ:

{ كَانَ رسولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذا فاتتْهُ الصَّلاةُ مِنَ اللَّيل مِنْ وجعٍ أَوْ غيرِهِ ، صَلَّى مِنَ النَّهارِ ثِنَتي عشَرة ركْعَة. }

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم.


A'isha ( May Allah be pleased with her )reported that,

"When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) missed the night prayer due to pain or any other reason, he observed twelve rak'ahs during the daytime."

Narrated by Muslim.
