On the third Monday in February, we honor our first President, George Washington, whose birthday is February 22. We also traditionally honor President Abraham Lincoln, whose birthday is February 12.
Washington’s Birthday was the first federal holiday to honor an individual's birth date. In 1885, Congress designated February 22 as a holiday for all federal workers. Nearly a century later, in 1971, the Uniform Monday Holiday Law changed the date to the third Monday in February. The position of the holiday between the birthdays of Washington and Abraham Lincoln gave rise to the popular name of Presidents Day.

The gentle breeze with lingering caress kiss the folds of no flag which can compare with it in beauty.
There is no such red in budding rose, in falling leaf or sparkling wine,
No such white in April blossom, in crescent moon or mountain snow,.
No such blue in woman's eye, in ocean's depth or heaven's dome,
And no such pageantry of clustering stars and streaming light in all the spectrum of the sea and sky.

This Memorial Day and every day, let us give thanks to the men and women who made the greatest sacrifice for our great nation.

"It's foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived"
Gen. George S. Patton

24 years ago today, terrorist attacked our great country. The targets were not just the symbols of America, but they were the spirit of America, and the intended victims were all 330 million Americans.
The attacks were intended to break our spirit, but instead, we emerged stronger and more unified. We felt a renewed feeling of Patriotism and the principles of political, economic, and religious freedom, the rule of law, and respect for human life.

Today, we have terrorist within our borders committing violence and pure evil. They use propaganda to warp the minds of our youth and the mentally ill into tools of their destruction.
We must be more determined than ever to live our lives in freedom. To protect our freedoms and pass them on to the next generation.
We must be as determined as our parents and grandparents before us to prevail over evil at any cost until we ultimately triumphed.

May we never forget those who lost their lives that fateful day and that work tirelessly to save our fellow Americans.

Happy Veterans Day.
The Appalachian Proud Boys of Kentucky are thankful for the men and women that have and are volunteering to serve our great country.
We're saying it today, but the feeling is the same everyday of the year. Without you and what you give up for American, we wouldn't have our Country, Western Culture and our Appalachian Traditions.
To all Veterans, Thank You

December 7th 1941, A date which will live in infamy.
Pearl Harbor was attacked killing or wounded more than 3500 Americans.

Let us all as Americans never forget what our parents and grandparents went through so that we could live in freedom.

"No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory"
President Franklin D. Roosevelt

O'l Kentucky has shared a lot with the Irish, it shows in our love of music and dancing, along with whiskey making (which we improved into Bourbon). Irish ancestry in Kentucky is 2nd only to the descendants of Germans, as the Irish immigrants were among the primary settlers of Kentucky.

So from the Appalachian Proud Boys of Kentucky, raise your beers and grab your Bourbon and Happy St. Patrick's Day,
Slainte and UHURU.
