This year, the Medical Education Committee under the Office of the National Vice President envisioned this Network as one that gives great importance in medical education and ensures that medical students will have the opportunities that help them develop their professional skills. Furthermore, this committee aims to empower every medical student to create a change in education and proactively respond to the needs of medicine, technology, and medical advocacies through introducing medical students to different conferences, conventions, and research.

In line with this, we would like to invite you all to a free online webinar series by the Foundation for the Advancement of Surgical Education, Inc. and the Department of Surgery College of Medicine- Philippine General Hospital, University of the Philippines- Manila. This year’s convention will feature selected on-demand lectures. The webinar aims to update participants on the strategies in the management of surgical problems that combine experience, expertise and current evidence.

Officer-of-the-month:

JOREN FERNECITA (ONP - National Medical Interns’ Committee Chairperson)

"Joren has been active since the start of this term. He has been helping me with communicating to Dr. Arcadio and Dr. Sosa regarding concerns for the PLE and F2F rotations. He has been proactive in getting the concerns of the interns regarding the issuance of CHEDRO permit. He also has been helping me communicate F2F concerns, not just for interns but also for clerks. Within a week, he was able to submit a report to APMCI regarding the status of F2F internship of hospitals over the Philippines. He also conducted a general assembly for each of the ten clusters to ensure that the projects of NMIC are presented to his fellow interns and that their concerns regarding internship are heard. Aside from fulfilling his own duties, he has also been helping NIPC as the previous Director for NIPC. Joren's proactiveness and concern for his fellow interns, medical students, and officers are definitely worthy of recognition as this month's Officer of the Month."

Furthermore, this committee aims to empower every medical student to create a change in education and proactively respond to the needs of medicine, technology, and medical advocacies through introducing medical students to different conferences, conventions, and research.

In line with this, we would like to invite you all to join our very own E-Course on Basic Skills Training by the Regional Medical Educational Committee-Visayas. With the pandemic continually affecting our lives, education has not been its steadiest, especially for skill-based courses. Medical students have been robbed of opportunities to know face-to-face and to train skills that they must be equipped with to work in the hospitals. 𝑬-π‘ͺ𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒏 π‘©π’‚π’”π’Šπ’„ π‘Ίπ’Œπ’Šπ’π’π’” π‘»π’“π’‚π’Šπ’π’Šπ’π’ˆ is an effort to make medical students familiar with clinical skills that they will need to help improve their future patients’ wellness. As medical students acquire these skills, E-Course on Basic Skills Training aims to π’„π’–π’π’•π’Šπ’—π’‚π’•π’† π’…π’†π’…π’Šπ’„π’‚π’•π’Šπ’π’ 𝒕𝒐 π’Žπ’†π’…π’Šπ’„π’‚π’ 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 π’‘π’‚π’•π’Šπ’†π’π’• 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 π’‚π’Žπ’π’π’ˆ π’•π’‰π’†π’Ž. Apart from those mentioned, the said project will also feature topics of relevance in our times now.
