π» ππππ§π: LIVE session time : 3pm KST, IST 11:30am, CST 2pm, BST 7am, EAT 9am
This year, the Medical Education Committee under the Office of the National Vice President envisioned this Network as one that gives great importance in medical education and ensure that medical students will have the opportunities that help them develop their professional skills. Furthermore, this committee aims to empower every medical student to create a change in education and proactively respond to the needs of medicine, technology, and medical advocacies through introducing medical students to different conferences, conventions, and research.
In line with this, we would like to invite you all to join a 5-day course on vaccinology. The course aims to build and strengthen capacity by providing participants with a comprehensive overview of the vaccine continuum, from vaccine development, evaluation, and regulatory principles to production, post-licensure activities, introduction, and policy issues. The course aligns with IVIβs mission to make vaccines available for global health by building capacity in vaccinology and promoting vaccine sustainability in developing countries.

SUBJECT: APMC-SN STATEMENT ON THE POSTPONEMENT OF THE SEPTEMBER 2021 PLE
In the past weeks, there has been a signiο¬cant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, with a record-high number of 22,366 daily cases last August 30, 2021. This surge, together with the emergence of more transmissible variants, has threatened the safety and well-being of Filipinos nationwide, including our board takers for the September 2021 Physician Licensure Exam. Not only does this pose various logistical and ο¬nancial concerns, but it also threatens the health of the examinees, their families, and their communities.
APMC-SN F.Y. 2021-2022, through the National Medical Internship Committee, wrote a letter to the APMCI last August 26, 2021 (Thursday) in hopes of addressing these issues and concerns. Within this letter, the Student Network emphasized the strain of the pandemic to this batch of board takers as concerns arise regarding examination application, extended enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), and increasing cases of variants in our country. Furthermore, we requested from APMCI a memorandum to provide support for the examinees and clarify a previous resolution stating that there shall be no postponement of the PLE.
Last August 30, 2021, APMCI responded favorably to our request as they released a resolution addressed to the Philippine Regulatory Commission Board of Medicine (PRC BOM), citing our request to postpone the upcoming Physician Licensure Examination until it is deemed safe to do so.
On the same day, the PRC BOM responded to the letter recommending proceeding with the scheduled PLE as long as it is allowed by the IATF. If IATF rejects conducting the PLE in MECQ areas, the PLE will be postponed nationwide.
In this light, we commend all individuals and organizations who ampliο¬ed the call to postpone the PLE and lobbied for the health and safety of the examinees. With this, the APMC-SN and APMCI support the call to postpone the September 2021 PLE as it is the only way we can assure of the safety and well-being of the board takers. We, as the national medical student network, are one with the medical community as we advocate for the protection of our valuable future physicians.
May this plea also serve as a reminder of the ο¬aws within our healthcare system. The daily struggles our healthcare workers face should not be projected as resiliency, but as the absence of a proactive government. It is of utmost importance that this batch of board takers are not seen as mere supply of human resources during a pandemic, but as signiο¬cant assets requiring sufο¬cient moral and economic support. Repeatedly, we demand for a system that prioritizes the oppressed and overworked.

π€ ππππ©: #CourageON: From preparation to monitoring: What Filipinos can do to watch the budget
π ππππ£: September 18, 2021 @ 4:00PM
π» ππππ§π: Zoom
This year, the Medical Education Committee under the Office of the National Vice President envisioned this Network as one that gives great importance in medical education and ensures that medical students will have the opportunities that help them develop their professional skills. Furthermore, this committee aims to empower every medical student to create a change in education and proactively respond to the needs of medicine, technology, and medical advocacies through introducing medical students to different conferences, conventions, and research.
Following the release of the Commission on Auditβs reports flagging numerous pandemic expenses and βdeficiencies,β budget has become a major hot topic. Especially with budget debates in Congress already ongoing, this is a good time to help inform Filipinos on how they can take an active role in budget watch.
That being said, we are inviting you to join Rapplerβs fourth community show titled β#CourageON: Tumindig, makialam, kumilos.β The show puts a spotlight on pressing issues in the Philippines and the ways we can take action on them together. We will be tackling what Filipinos can do to be heard during budget season, as well as the ways they can help keep watch on the budget and influence policy decisions.
