Following posts of Senior Research Fellow and Laboratory Technicians are to be filled on purely contractual basis and co-terminus with the IMR project whose are the details as follows.
Senior Research Fellow (Toxicology) - 01
Name of the Intra-mural Research Project : Exploration of reproduction toxicity profile of AYUSH 64
Duration : Initially 6 months (may be extended based on satisfactory performance)
Duration of Project : 02 Year
Remuneration : Rs. 35,000/-+ 24% HRA pm
Qualification and age limit : Essential:- M.V.Sc./ M.Pharm (Pharmacology/Toxicology) or equivalent / M.Sc. (Biotechnology/Toxicology/ Biochemistry with two years research experience) from a recognized University/Institution.
Desirable:- Candidate with hands on experience in laboratory animal handling will be preferred.
Age : Age not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview (Age relaxation as per Govt, of India Rules).

Laboratory technician- 01

1. Candidates with Master degree in relevant subject shall be exempted from condition of experience.
2. Candidates with higher qualification and hands on experience in animal cell culture shall be preferred.

Announcing the release of Rs. 260 crores package for expanding the infrastructure of NIA’s satellite centre of Panchkula, Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbanand Sonowal commemorated the 6th National Ayurveda Day at the National Institute of Ayurveda i n Jaipur.
The two-day event aims to encourage the adoption of ayurvedic principles of wellness and healing in line with the theme of ‘Ayurveda for Poshan’.
The centre, as the ministry stated, has increasingly collaborated with states to make advancements in the field of Ayush and make the country a global hub for effective traditional medicines.
“Ayurveda can play an important role in raising awareness among the general public about the necessity and importance of leading a disease-free, healthy and long life, both physical and mental. The potential of ayurveda in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and how it can contribute significantly to lower the burden of non-communicable diseases in India is immense."

मुथुवन समुदाय मदुरै वंश की प्रजा थी। जब इस राजवंश को हटा दिया गया, तो जीवित शाही सदस्य केरल के त्रावणकोर चले गए। वे प्रवास के दौरान शाही परिवार की देवी मदुरै मीनाक्षी की मूर्तियों को ले गए। तमिलनाडु में इसी समुदाय को दर्शाने के लिए ‘मुथुवर शब्द’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है। मुथुवन लोग इस भूमि की प्राचीन जनजातियाँ हैं। वे रागी, लेमन ग्रास और इलायची उगाते हैं।

New species ‘Cryptocarya Muthuvariana’ discovered in Western Ghats
Cryptocarya Muthuvariana, a new plant species has been discovered from the Southern Western Ghats, Kerala, India. The species of the genus Cryptocarya has been found in the Edamalakkudy forests in Idukki District, Kerala.
The discovery was made by researchers R. Jagadeesan, former researcher, Department of Botany, University of Kerala; A. Gangaprasad, Professor, Department of Botany, and Director, Centre for Biodiversity Conservation, University of Kerala; and P. Suresh Kumar and Sam P. Mathew of the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI), Palode. The findings have also been published in Annales Botanici Fennici, a scientific journal.
About the Species
‘Cryptocarya muthuvariana’ has been named in honor of a local tribe, Muthuvar. The species was discovered in their neighborhood. It is also the first time, a species has been named after a tribe. The Mathuvar tribe is known to play a significant role in the conservation of forests.
The species resembles C. ferrarsi, a taxon known from India (northeast and Andaman Islands) and Bangladesh. The newly discovered species differs from C. ferrarsi as it has 7–8 (vs. 9–15) pairs of lateral nerves in the leaves and ellipsoid–oblongoid (vs. ovoid-conoid) fruits.
Studies on the species confirmed it to be a distinct species.
Details
Cryptocarya genus belongs to the Lauraceae family. It comprises over 300 species, widely distributed over South America, South Africa, Madagascar, Asia, Australia, and Oceania. The researchers came across the new species while conducting surveys on endemic and threatened species in the Western Ghats.
‘Cryptocarya muthuvariana’ grows to a height of about 10 to 15 metre. It can be identified by its ‘not-too-broad leaves’. The researchers managed to spot only around 10 individual trees of the species in the locality.
According to the researchers, the Western Ghats is home to around nine species of the genus Cryptocarya. The researchers also stressed the need to study aspects related to ecological importance, medicinal value and sustainable use of the new species.
Muthuvar Tribal Community
The Muthuvan tribal community belonged to the Madurai dynasty. They live on the border hill forests of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The word ‘Muthuvar’ denotes the same community in Tamil Nadu. They are found in the Adimali and Devikulam forest regions of the Idukki district. The highest concentration of the tribe is on the Anamudi hills, the highest peak of the Western Ghats.
