Harnessing digital solutions offers many benefits to industry stakeholders along the value chain. For instance, industry professionals can optimise building performance from the upfront design stages, provide quick carbon calculations, and streamline BCA Green Mark submissions, all while driving measurable sustainability outcomes that contribute to Singaporeโ€™s net zero emissions target by 2050.

At the Digital Carbon Management Seminar organised by BCA, industry professionals learnt from both leading firms and solution providers about best practices and the latest digital solutions for sustainable design and carbon management respectively. In his opening remarks, BCA's DCEO of Industry Development Mr Tan Chee Kiat shared how digital solutions can contribute to carbon reduction and encouraged more firms to tap on government funding to adopt the solutions and improve their processes.

We look forward to seeing more firms adopt and scale digital carbon management solutions!

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to SMU Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) on the launch of the Urban SustaInnovator (USI), a new platform that brings together startups, industry leaders, and investors to co-create sustainable solutions for our cities.

We are proud to have been part of this milestone event at the The Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition Finals Week, with BCA's Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Cheng joining the panel discussion on โ€œAnchoring Global Startups, Shaping Sustainable Cities".

The panel had introduced the rationale for establishing the USI, in catalysing collaborations across government, industry, and academia to accelerate innovation and help startups scale impactful solutions for the urban future.

As Singapore advances towards a greener, smarter, and more liveable Built Environment, we look forward to the new partnerships and collaborations through this platform that will make real impact on our cities!

โฑ๏ธ Inefficiencies in planning and resource allocation can collectively cost the built environment sector billions annually.

Developing a detailed schedule for new projects are often based on past productivity data and personal expertise. Planners must manually work with thousands of tasks โ€“ each with its own duration, sequence, and resource requirements. This is time-consuming and makes the process prone to human error.

โš ๏ธ Being aware of the challenges, Frontline Construction and Penta-Ocean Construction Company Limited participated in BCAโ€™s Built Environment Accelerate to Market Programme (BEAMP) Cycle 5, developing an AI-driven scheduling solution that aims to improve productivity and bring significant time and cost savings to construction projects.

Graced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, 25 firms were recognised for achieving accreditation under the Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MAS). Of these, five firms successfully achieved the higher Tier 2 accreditation, by adopting Robotics and Automation (R&A) and Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) within their manufacturing facilities.

Their commitment to transformation is not only improving productivity but also enhancing supply efficiency to meet the rising demand for prefab MEP locally and regionally. STAS also introduced the Market Expansion Award, to recognise Singapore-based companies that have successfully brought their Prefab MEP capabilities to overseas markets.
