Responsibility= Response+ ability
So it's is the ability to respond
It's willingness act of doing something
It's taken by own self
It's requires loyalty and love
Whereas
duty is imposed on someone, to perform something which is morally, legally or professionally considered right. It is something which we are required to do as per law, conventions, rules and norms
It's generally given by others
It binds you to perform the task
It is done on account of sacrifice of self interest
Note - Responsible (जिम्मेदार) से Responsibility (जिम्मेदारी) बना है, जब हम कहते हैं कि ये तो बड़ा जिम्मेदार है यानी वो व्यक्ति अगर किसी काम को अपने हाथ मे ले लेगा तो पूरी लगन और शिद्दत से उसे पूरा करने की कोशिश करता है बस फिर तो समझो की आप का काम हो ही गया, बस वो तो खुद ही लगा रहता है बार बार उसे कहने की जरूरत ही नहीं होती और हम सब निश्चिंत हो जाते हैं.... तो यहां व्यक्ति को जब कुछ काम सौपा जाता है तो वो उसे अपने आप से भी उपर रख कर पूरा करने की कोशिश करता रहता है
पर duty मे चीजे खुद वा खुद आपके कार्यक्षेत्र का हिस्सा बन जाती है यानी अब ये आपका कर्तव्य है कि ये आपको करना होगा क्योंकि अब आप इस दायरे मे आ चुके हैं आप इनसे बँध चुके हैं यहा आपकी खुशी ना खुशी मायने नहीं रखती है अब ये आपकी जिंदगी की दैनिकचर्या है जिसे आपको पूरा करना है जैसे.... शादी से पहले शाम का खाना बनाने का काम (जिम्मेदारी) मैंने ले रखी थी और माँ आराम से मन्दिर चली जाती थी, पर शादी के बाद तो दोनों time खाना मुझे ही बनना है क्योंकि अब ये मेरी ड्यूटी है, मैं इससे बँध चुकी हूं अगर मैं बहु होकर भी ये सब नहीं करुँगी और मेरी सास ये सब करेगी तो ये कोई अच्छी बात थोड़े ही होगी (morals + right/wrong वाला ज़मीर/अन्तःकरण = concience).... यहा मैने शादी को मंजूरी दी और घर का सारा काम मुझ पर आ पड़ा जबकि शादी से पहले वहीं काम मेरी खुसी से मैंने चुना था और अब तो बस करना ही है.. its understood... नोकरी क्या join की 10 से 5 की ड्यूटी मे बँध गए साहब अब कहा मन मर्जी चलती है... its understood ki job पर जाना है तो जाना है
In short Duty (कर्तव्य/उत्तरदायित्व) - अगर मैंने अपने बच्चे पैदा किए h तो उनको पालना मेरी ड्यूटी h (it's understood)
पर अगर मैं अपने आप से जा कर अपनी बहन की बेटी को lakr उसको पालने की सारी जबावदारी या जिम्मेदारी अपने पर leleti हूं तो ये मेरी Responsibility कहलाई जाएगी....
