The People's Government of Yingjiang County, which is part of Yunnan Province, has ordered the closure of all Bitcoin mines that use hydroelectric power on its territory. Considering that this is the main source of electricity in the region, the document means a complete ban on mining.
The mining of cryptocurrency is to be stopped in Yingjiang County on a voluntary basis from August 24, after that date, raids will begin to identify miners with the help of the Ministry of Energy's enterprise analytics.
📌Discovered mining points will be dismantled, and data center buildings will be destroyed. Yingjiang is the first in China to take such measures; up to this point, the authorities have given Chinese miners the opportunity to gradually close their business.
