#Post_of_the_Day
World Soil Day is celebrated on December 5th every year globally, including in India. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of healthy soil and advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. In India, various events and activities are organized by government agencies, NGOs, and community groups to mark the occasion. These include seminars, workshops, rallies, and tree-planting drives focused on promoting soil conservation, reducing soil erosion, and improving soil fertility. Additionally, there are ongoing initiatives in India to improve soil management practices, such as the Soil Health Card Scheme launched by the Indian government in 2015 to provide farmers with information on the nutrient status of their soil and recommendations for appropriate fertilizer use.
