🔔 Cultural Property Agreement

The first ever Cultural Property Agreement was signed at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi between India and the United States of America.

The objective of the agreement is to prevent and curb the illicit trafficking of antiquities between India and the USA.

The agreement aligns with the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export, and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property.

Khudiram Bose (1889-1908) was an Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter who played a significant role in the Indian independence movement against British rule. Here are some key points about Khudiram Bose:

- Early life: Born in Midnapore, Bengal (now West Bengal), Bose was inspired by the revolutionary ideas of Sri Aurobindo and other nationalist leaders.

- Revolutionary activities: Bose joined the Jugantar party and participated in several revolutionary activities, including planting bombs and disrupting British communications.

- Muzaffarpur Conspiracy Case: Bose, along with Prafulla Chaki, attempted to assassinate Magistrate Kingsford by throwing a bomb at his carriage. However, they mistakenly targeted the wrong vehicle, killing two British women instead.

- Arrest and trial: Bose was arrested, tried, and sentenced to death at the age of 18.

- Execution: He was hanged on August 11, 1908, in Muzaffarpur Jail, becoming one of the youngest revolutionaries to be executed by the British.

- Legacy: Khudiram Bose is remembered as a martyr and a hero in India's struggle for independence. His courage and sacrifice continue to inspire Indians to this day.
