70+ Score in GA and still didn't clear.
Today, a student asked me:
"How are some students scoring 70+ in General Awareness by following the magazine, while I am not even able to score 35–40?"
The answer is simple.
You started reading current affairs only after the notification was released, and that too for the last 3–4 months.
The students scoring 70+ have been reading current affairs throughout the year. By the time you started reading, they had already completed one cycle and were busy revising.
Even during my own preparation, I followed the same approach. I read newspapers and current affairs consistently throughout the year instead of trying to cover everything in the last few months.
In the exam, many questions are factual and general in nature. Such questions are difficult to answer by reading a magazine only once.
Learning happens through repeated exposure.
You first read a news item in a newspaper or online. A few days later, you read it again in a magazine. Then you encounter it in a quiz or mock test. Finally, you revise it before the exam.
This process of repeated exposure and active recall is what helps the information stay in your memory and come back during the exam.
If you treat Current Affairs as just another subject to be completed before the exam, it becomes difficult to score very high.

Treat it as a daily habit, devote 35-40 mins of your free time seeing what's going around, what RBI is doing, what govt is doing, what are happening in Indian Economy, Banking sector, this simple practice keep you on track. That is where the real difference lies.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has revised the base year of IIP from 2011-12 to 2022-23 to better reflect current industrial structure and dynamics.
This is the 10th revision of base year of All India IIP. The first IIP was prepared with base year 1937.
Coverage: It added Gas Supply, Water Supply, Sewerage & Waste Management activities while retaining the existing sectors.
The Electricity Index now separately tracks generation from renewable and non-renewable sources.
