IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern Changes: 2025 vs 2026

I was looking at the IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern, and this year they have changed quite a few things.

The most significant changes are the increase in the weightage of General Awareness, Addition of Reading Comprehension in the Descriptive Paper, and the reduction in marks allotted to the English Language section.

Descriptive Paper has become more challenging for students who may previously have relied heavily on memorising a few standard letter formats and reproducing them in the examination. RC is more technical in nature. You have to read, understand, interpret, and then frame your answers based on the passage. If you directly copy paste info from passage you loose marks.

If you are a non-working RBI Grade B aspirant, have appeared for IBPS PO Prelims, and are hopeful of qualifying for Mains, consider this a golden opportunity.

Whenever significant changes are introduced in an examination pattern, the first year can be an advantage for those who are already aware of the changes and are prepared accordingly.

If I were in your position, I would have grab this opportunity with both hands.

In General Awareness, they have clearly mentioned RBI Circulars would be asked.

IFSCA Grade A Exam Update.

There is No News on Notification yet but there will be in sometime, hopefully in October.

However there is Another major update, Eligibility criteria for Grade A has been changed and Now it matches the SEBI Grade A Criteria means No general graduates are Eligible in exam.

Last year they had allowed it after campaign but this time they have completely changed in the beginning itself and now it matches other similar exams.
