Breakout trading, C&H, Ichimoku, Candlesticks, triangle patterns, Oscillator indicators, etc.โthese all are a part of something known as "conventional technical analysis," which is complete bookish theoretical knowledge covered over the past century and which 90% of retail traders and investors are following. Don't you think with the advancement of AI and ML, someone could copy all this bookish knowledge and create an algorithmic bot to win every time? But does any person or a bot have a 100% or even 90% hit rate? Can everyone make profits in the market? Can everyone finish first in a race and no one come last? How will a strategy work if it's used by the majority in a zero-sum game? Someone has to win while the other has to lose in a finitely competitive field.
For example, let's say 90 students in a class of 100 have learned the same chapters via group study and being in their comfort zone by following the crowd, while 10 students have worked hard, learned a few extra topics, analysed the pattern of the previous year's question paper, and followed the important notes given by the professor. Who do you think will score the highest? The lazy majority who were blindly following the crowd and did not work hard enough, or someone among the minority of 10 individuals who devised a proper strategy before stepping into the examination hall?
"Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win" - Sun Tzu
The one who strategies something new and unique will give him or her the edge, and eventually they will achieve success and make money in the markets and the real world.
