The combustion engine is definitively dead — gasoline engines have for the first time completely disappeared from the final of the European competition "Car of the Year".
All seven contenders for the title 2027 are electric vehicles. Competing for the win are the BMW iX3, Cupra Raval, Hyundai Ioniq 3, Kia EV2, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen ID. Polo, and Volvo EX60. From 38 contenders, the jury selected only these models. Among those who did not make it further are Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Zeekr.
The final tests will take place in November, and the winner will be announced on January 8 at the car show in Brussels.

The company Audacious Automotive has introduced the restomod Audacious IV, designed in the style of an 80s rally coupe. The basis is the Audi RS4: a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8, all-wheel drive, and a six-speed "manual transmission." The power reaches up to 750 hp, and the most extreme versions rev up to 10,000 rpm.
The interior is deliberately analog: no screens, just buttons and levers. A total of 50 units will be produced — not counting the donor vehicle. The first deliveries are promised for the end of 2027.
