The Mercedes-Benz SEC from the 80s has been transformed into a 500-horsepower restomod — the German studio Mechatronik has unveiled the M SEC.

Instead of the original engine, a 6.2-liter V8 from AMG with 500 horsepower and a 7-speed automatic transmission was installed. The coupe also received a new suspension, powerful brakes, and carbon body elements, while the interior retains the atmosphere of a classic Mercedes.

A total of 30 units will be produced, including a more extreme GT version.

The Germans transformed the Mercedes from the 80s into a 500-horsepower monster — the company Mechatronik presented the M SEC based on the Mercedes-Benz SEC coupe.

They installed a 6.2-liter V8 from AMG, a 7-speed automatic transmission, modern suspension, and powerful brakes. The body was enhanced with carbon, and the interior was updated while maintaining the atmosphere of the 80s.

A total of 30 units will be produced, including a more sporty version, the GT.

The legendary Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has been transformed into a 1000-horsepower monster — the classic muscle car from 1967 has received a fully carbon fiber body.

The American atelier Classic Recreations replaced the steel panels with carbon fiber, reducing the car's weight by about 270 kg. Under the hood now sits a supercharged V8 with 1000 horsepower instead of the original 355. A new suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and modern electronics have also been installed.

Several versions will be offered with power ranging from 500 to 1000 horsepower. Prices start at € 549,900 (₽45 million), while the 900-horsepower modification goes for up to € 724,900 (₽59.4 million).

Now it's okay: The extended BMW 3 Series New Class is being prepared in China

The Chinese version of the 3 Series will likely carry the designation G58. In addition to the extended wheelbase, there is another important improvement: the door handles are no longer hidden in the bodywork but feature a semi-open design. Ironically, BMW has built the car for China, but by the time it launches, China has already banned such handles.

However, the most significant change actually concerns the dimensions.

The dimensions of the global “Three”: 4765 × 1850 × 1455 mm with a wheelbase of 2860 mm.

The Chinese long version: 4865 × 1852 × 1461 mm. Although the car has grown by 100 mm in length, the wheelbase has immediately increased by 110 mm: 2970 mm.

There is still a long way to go to the current “Five” with the designation G60: 5060 × 1900 × 1515 mm. However, the wheelbase differs by only 25 mm: 2995 mm. This means that there will be almost as much space in the interior as in the global BMW 5 Series.

So far, there is no information about the interior: the Chinese regulatory authorities have only revealed the exterior of the 325L and 330L as well as some options. It is known that they will feature two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The power of the base version will be 211 hp, while the stronger version will deliver 258 hp. In both cases, the vehicles will receive an undeniable eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The release of the extended “Three,” which will come to us in relatively large numbers, is planned for next year.
