We are pleased to introduce Dr. Xenia Hattori, whose expertise in bioengineering and molecular biology enriches the CAU School of Engineering

Originally from Russia, Dr. Hattori completed her master’s degree in chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna in Austria, where her research focused on multiphoton grafting. She then earned her doctoral degree from Osaka University in Japan, where she spent five years researching short non-coding microRNAs capable of programming the human immune system.

At CAU, Dr. Hattori teaches nano-bioengineering and protein engineering, and will introduce a new course in immuno-engineering next semester.

Her teaching follows a Socratic approach: she encourages students to think independently and solve real problems. With a strong focus on international research and biosafety standards, she prepares students for work in laboratories anywhere in the world.

💙 For Dr. Hattori, curiosity, the limitless possibilities of her field and — most importantly — the enthusiasm of CAU students inspire her every day.
