Panchakshara (Sanskrit: पञ्चाक्षर, meaning "five syllables") primarily refers to the sacred five-syllable mantra associated with God Shiva, "Namah Shivaya".
When prefixed with the primordial sound "Om", it becomes the six-syllable mantra, "Om Namah Shivaya".
