The Keralantakan Tiruvasal is the monumental first gateway (gopuram) of the iconic Rajarajesvaram (Brihadeeswarar Temple) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu

The name translates to "The Sacred Gate of the Conqueror of Kerala". It was built to celebrate Raja Raja Chola's victory over the Chera dynasty in Kerala.

It is a massive stone gateway standing approximately 30 metres high. It is characterized by intricate sculptures and carvings, including depictions of deities like Narasimhan Avatharam.

The first picture shows the close up of this wonderful sculpture and the second picture shows it's place on the Gopuram!

This one sculpture is enough to tell us the extent to which they hated our religion & our artifacts!

It is at least 20 feet above the ground level!

They managed to climb this 20 feet!

Then what did they do?

Broken the legs, hands and the h*ad of the infant she is carrying!

They left the rest of the sculpture intact, just to convey a message!

Heartless buggers; how could they do this to an infant?

Most cruel guys!

Observe this very closely which is seen on the ceiling of Kesava temple, Somnathpura

There are some metal strips which are used to join with screws.

Can you believe all these metal like looking strips are made up of stones, including that screw which is used to join?

Looks like that there is nothing they could not do with stones!

AMAZING!

How many of you know this?

The pillar standing in the courtyard in front of the Chennakeshava Temple in Belur is primarily known as the Gravity Pillar (or Deepa Sthambha).

Standing at 42 feet high this 15-ton monolithic granite pillar is famous because it has no foundation and is not buried in the ground.

It stands entirely on its own weight on a raised star-shaped platform.

A unique engineering feat allows it to rest on only three sides, leaving a small gap on the fourth side through which visitors can often slide a thin piece of paper or cloth.

It was originally designed as a lamp post (Deepa Sthambha) and features a space at the top to hold a lamp
