Over 1.5 years, Ukraine 🇺🇦 has slowly but consistently implemented its obstacle-based fortification strategy and now has a solid and complex fallback line grid for most of the country.
Let's look at the results achieved and draw some conclusions, with bonus reviews from the soldiers!

For months, Ukraine 🇺🇦 has been conducting a series of deep infiltrations on the Velika Novosilka front.

Some of Russia’s 2025 gains have already been reversed, with the February counter-attack expanding to a 40-kilometer front.

As a reminder, in February, the Ukrainian army conducted a discreet offensive for several weeks, clearing infiltrated areas, securing Pokrovsk'e and infiltrating areas that were previously under Russian control.

This counter-attack notably secured Ternuvat and prevented the use of Uspenivka to launch assaults on the Zaporizhzhia front.

This significantly slowed the Russian advance, reducing its length from 42 km to 25 km (west of Hulialpole).

This regaining of the initiative by the Ukrainians limited the number of Russian infiltrations deep into the region.

There were far fewer Russian infiltrations toward Pokrovsk and the Vovosha River; the offensive even forced Moscow to send in reinforcements.

For example, we could easily extend the grey zone on deepstate map like here, since we have multiple recent geolocations of ukrainian positions but barely any geolocations of russian positions there.

Now, let's talk about my understanding of the situation :

I believe the ukrainians managed to clear most of Ivanivka and Novopavlivka, while infiltrating east of the Vovocha.

Russian forces continue to assault the main defensive line with big logistical difficulties.

Example of ukrainian positions in southern Novopavlivka : twitter.com/richardzai38580/status…
