The main goal of the "Token Explained" series is to understand in simple terms what a project is and why it even needs its own token!

People have become stuck in the standard DYOR cliché! They go and start reading whitepapers, beautiful information on websites, see logos of some partners, investors, and funds, look at roadmap infographics, and consume endless bullish fundamental posts from KOLs!

In other words, they see a beautiful wrapper. And if you add a couple of fancy technical terms and numbers from the blockchain world, it creates the impression that every other project can cure cancer and feed all the hungry children in the world in the future!

Then people face reality, and they see how a token with all this information on its website, dating back to 2021, or in some cases even 2018, has been going down on the chart for years!

Yet, year after year, everyone keeps pushing the narrative that fundamentals are important!

Maybe they are important for the project, but not for the token's price!

That's why it's important to separate what a project actually is from why it needs a token!

Because if a token has spent the last five years going down in price despite having essentially the same ideas, goals, technology, and fundamental metrics, then those fundamentals clearly haven't had a positive impact on its price!

However, there are projects where the token's price and value could potentially increase in the future if the project gains popularity and people start using its services or the value the project provides, for which they actually need its token!
