Quant Preparation Roadmap for Students
πFoundation Phase (Basics First):
Goal: Build strong fundamentals in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data handling.β
Steps:π
Revise school-level math (NCERT class 6β10 is gold).
Learn key formulas (percentages, ratios, averages, speed-distance-time, permutations, etc.).
Make a formula notebook/cheat sheet.]
πCalculation Speed & Accuracy
Goal: Reduce time per question.β
Techniques:π
Vedic Math tricks for multiplication, division, and squaring.
Approximation techniques (e.g., eliminating answer options quickly).
Mental math practice (do not rely on calculators).
Daily Practice: 10β15 mental math problems (fractions, decimals, approximations).]
πMock Practice & Time Management
Goal: Apply concepts under exam-like pressure.β
Plan:π
Weekly timed practice tests (start with untimed, then move to full-timed).
Track accuracy rate (%) and average time/question.
Tips:π
Donβt waste time on 1 hard question β move on.
Learn educated guessing + option elimination.
Practice skipping strategy (sometimes leaving a tough Q saves time for 3 easy ones).

How to solve RCs (Reading Comprehension)π
1 . How to read a passage -
πRead the first sentence of each paragraph carefully β authors often place the main idea there.
πIdentify the thesis/goal: what is the passage trying to do? (explain, argue, compare, narrate)
πMentally hold 1β2 short sentences: main idea + authorβs stance/tone.
2. Question types & how to solve them
A. Main idea / Primary purposeπ
Strategy: Look at the passage summary you formed. Eliminate choices that are too narrow or that focus on a detail. Prefer global, general statements.
B. Tone / Attitude / Authorβs stanceπ
Strategy: Look for adjectives, modals, ironic markers, and qualifiers (however, unfortunately, surprisingly). Choose the option matching the overall tone (not just one sentence).
C. Inferenceπ
Strategy: Support the inference using passage evidence. Inference must be highly likely given the passage, not merely possible.
