When buying a new Mac costs less than asking Apple to replace battery ... WTF 250$, yes 250$ ... they are simply crazy (considering that 2014 is obsolete, 2015-2017 vintage...) or buying a Fix Kit ... but still faster to buy a new Mac ...

HowTo? (near) realtime update of mounted drive
Content: Hi all, when using pClouds or Koofrs proprietary client I see updates in the cloud almost instantly in my local mounted drive, when using rclone mount remote: R: --vfs-cache-mode full [...] it takes several minutes.
I tested around but haven't figured out which switches/flags to use to see updates to the cloud drive at least within a minute locally.I was glad if you had advice. We are DataHoardingFreaks. A @roadtopetabyte project

How to specify MS Onedrive User in config reconnect
Content:
Using rclone with onedrive backend for a store for restic backups. It's been working fine, but I need to (config reconnect).
I have 2 onedrive accounts, only one of which is used with rclone. The rclone config reconnect command tries to authenticate via web with the wrong one. When the web page comes up to authenticate, there is no option to change the Microrost username.
Where / how is the MS Onedrive username specified either in the flags or in the config file?

nemo lags terribly with mounted google drive
Content:
when i go into the folder where i mounted my gdrive, the file manager starts lagging so hard it freezes up after a few seconds of navigating and i have to force close it. i don't have many files in there (about 6.5gb in total) and it's only started happening very recently. it doesn't happen with any other remote i mount.
os: linux mint 21 x86_64
rclone version: 1.65.0

(also when i check the properties for any mounted remote the size and file count start increasing and don't stop? it's probably unrelated just thought i'd mention)

Transforming rclone into a Cloud-to-Cloud Sync Tool on VPS
Content: I'm excited to share with you all an innovative project I've been working on: CloudsLinker. This project transforms the traditional use of rclone from a local setup to a web-based application, making cloud-to-cloud data transfer more accessible and efficient than ever. Before I dive into the technicalities, let me give you a glimpse of what led me to this idea. Like many of you, I've been using rclone locally to sync my cloud drives. It always struck me – why not leverage rclone on a server and turn it into a web application? This way, we can manage cloud data transfers from anywhere in the world! Here's how I brought this idea to life with CloudsLinker:User-Friendly API Interfaces: I designed a set of user APIs, allowing you to easily create your configurations and authorize your cloud drives.Enhanced Storage with MySQL: Delving into rclone's source code, I shifted the storage of cloud information from config files to a MySQL database. This change scales up our capability to handle numerous cloud configurations efficiently.Efficient Task Management: Using the mqueue queue system, we can now manage and schedule rclone tasks. Plus, with the accounting.GetStatsWithoutSet
function, you get real-time task progress updates right on your interface.Task Recording and Replication: Every rclone task you create is recorded in a MySQL database, enabling you to replicate past transfer tasks on different devices with ease.https://preview.redd.it/lcb7ayt8sn4c1.png?width=1482&format=png&auto=webp&s=92afe3abba5c0a187ce89bacd264b81fa59f71baAs of now, CloudsLinker successfully implements rclone's copy
function for inter-cloud file transfers with filtering options. Currently, it supports 7 cloud drives: Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, Mega, Yandex Disk, and Pcloud.https://preview.redd.it/md69u87rsn4c1.png?width=2182&format=png&auto=webp&s=be2fde9275fe70ccbf1bb64cc776c5c1087696d9Check out the tool here: CloudsLinker. Given the VPS's bandwidth and transfer limits, I'm offering each user a generous 1000GB of transfer quota. What's Next? My roadmap includes adding more cloud drives and setting up scheduled tasks.Join me in this journey to make cloud-to-cloud transfers simpler, faster, and more accessible. Let's make CloudsLinker the go-to tool for our cloud storage needs!Excited to hear your thoughts and feedback!Visit CloudsLinker and start streamlining your cloud transfers today!https://preview.redd.it/rb9a9g80tn4c1.png?width=2127&format=png&auto=webp&s=00a944cdd47ec51cae4bfe36c8fe1fc0bfb613e1We are DataHoardingFreaks. WD_Black SN770M 2 TB im Test: Tempo satt im Kleinstformat
