Version 1.66.0 and Linux Kernel
Content: Hello! I would like to try RClone so I can start using my ProtonDrive on Linux.
The minimum requirements on the website state that kernel 2.6.32 is needed. I currently have 6.5.0-26 on Ubuntu 23.10. Does this mean that I need use Mainline and download a later Kernel? I was hoping to not start messing with Mainline kernels again.Thanks!We are DataHoardingFreaks. A @roadtopetabyte project
Is Proton Drive still supported?
Content:
Hello,
I just wanted to ask - before I do some important things with rclone + Proton Drive, if this remote is still supported and in active development?
I know it’s listed as beta since it was introduced with 1.64 but since then there were no more commits regarding Proton Drive.
Also I saw no more activity from the initial maintainer since rclone 1.64 .
Does anyone know more?
This would be the only remote I need.
Thanks and keep up the good work with rclone!

What's going on here?

Why is this taking so long and why won't it skip to the next file if it encounters an error?
Moving DB to Proton Drive.

Sync files starting with the smallest
Content:
More of an rsync question than an rclone question but does anyone know how to sync files starting the smallest files? This avoids the sync getting stuck with one large file and potentially timing out before a lot of smaller ones can get sent over the wire.

The issue of sharing via rclone mount and Samba
Content:
Friends, I've searched everywhere but couldn't find it. I want to share the folder I mounted with rclone via Samba with encryption. If possible, could you share the Docker or Compose code with me so I can run this system in Docker and assist me?

Feedback request - backup/sync plan using rclone
Content:
Hello everyone. Can I please get some feedback on my below planned use of rclone?
What I am trying to do:
From my Windows server, I want to sync my unRAID host (~50TB) to the local storage on the Windows host. The locally sync'd data and filenames should be encrypted, as the rclone destination directory will be backed up to Backblaze Personal (not B2). I want hash support (md5) on both source and destination to allow for regular backup integrity checks, and to allow track renames. Accidental file deletion protection is being handled on the unRAID host. unRAID array parity is used to protect against single disk loss. This rclone sync is to protect against multiple disk loss or major oops by me. The Backblaze Personal is in case I lose my entire house (hopefully not due to oops by me).

My rclone configuration:
[source_sftp]
type = sftp
host = UNRAID
user = x
pass = x
shell_type = unix
md5sum_command = md5sum
sha1sum_command = none
[local_drive]
type = local
[crypted]
type = crypt
remote = local_drive:G:\Enc
password = x
filename_encoding = base32768
[dest_chunker]
type = chunker
remote = crypted:
chunk_size = 1Pi
hash_type = md5all

Backup Plan:
PARAMS=--checksum --metadata --create-empty-src-dirs --track-renames --buffer-size 64Mi --transfers 8 --checkers 16

Daily copies of just the past 24hr of new or changed files.
rclone $PARAMS copy --max-age 1d source_sftp:/foo/bar dest_chunker:foobar

Weekly full syncs (to sync deletions).
rclone $PARAMS sync source_sftp:/foo/bar dest_chunker:foobar

Weekly or bi-weekly "quick" tests/validates of destination based on file size/time/etc.
rclone $PARAMS check source_sftp:/foo/bar dest_chunker:foobar --one-way

Monthly or bi-monthly "deep" tests/validates of destination based on checksums from both sides.
rclone $PARAMS check source_sftp:/foo/bar dest_chunker:foobar --download

Does anyone see any issues with this plan?
To answer some expected questions:
I'm running this on Windows to handle long file/path names. I was getting errors trying to run it on the unRAID(Linux) host
I'm using a SFTP source since the checksum generation will run locally on the unRAID server. I was testing with a local-drive remote, pointing at a Windows mounted SMB drive, but performance was obviously poorer since rclone needed to xfer the entire file (twice?).
I refrained from using the rclone smb remote due to lack of hash support.
I have zero interest in using the Backblaze Personal docker container in unRAID that uses Wine - it's way too much of a janky blackbox for me.
My questions:
Do I need to consider using 'cryptcheck' or the 'check' is sufficient?
It looks like rclone lsjson crypted:foobar --recursive --encrypted will give me all mappings between encrypted filenames and original chunker names?
--metadata from source appears to be ignored/lost by chunker, so should I remove the param?

Many thank yours ahead of time to those that take the time to review and respond!
