You received a message from your cinema club manager.

The cinema club management is considering moving weekly movie time from Friday evenings to Tuesday mornings to reduce the theater rental costs. They are also planning to stop showing international movies with subtitles and instead focus only on high-budget Hollywood films.

Writing Task 1.1

Write a short letter to your friend who also attends this cinema club with you. Explain the situation about the possible changes and tell them how you feel about it.

Writing Task 1.2

Write a letter to the cinema club manager.
• give your opinion about moving the movie time to Tuesday mornings
• explain what you think about focusing only on Hollywood movies
• suggest what the club should do instead.

I’ve just received a message from the cinema club manager. They’re planning to change movie time from Friday evenings to Tuesday mornings and stop showing international films. Personally, I feel disappointed because Friday evenings are more convenient for most people.
What do you think?

Cheers,

Dear Manager,

Thank you for your message about the future changes to the cinema club. I would like to share my opinion in this letter. I also have some suggestions for the club.

Firstly, I think moving the movie time from Friday evenings to Tuesday mornings may not be convenient for many members. Most people have work or school during weekday mornings, so attendance could drop.

Secondly, focusing only on high-budget Hollywood films would reduce the variety in the club. International movies with subtitles are enjoyable and help us learn about other cultures, which makes the club more interesting.

I suggest keeping the Friday evening schedule and including both Hollywood and international films. This way, the club will remain enjoyable for all members.

Yours sincerely,
Abdulloh Abdurazzaqov
