The wrap-up of "North American West Coast Tour 2016":

I never managed to post anything about the end of the tour after the last gig, due to reasons below. Anyway, the show in Vancouver, Canada, was great! Lots of people showed up, and we decided to play all 15 songs we had practiced for the tour. I guess it worked for the audience, too, and you don't usually have a member of Blasphemy in the pit on your gig.

The trip back home started that same night, and it was very long and tedious. We drove straight to Seattle airport, waited, dropped our luggage, waited some more, flew to France, didn't have time to wait due to Charles de Gaulle's awesome marathon length labyrinth simulator, flew to Finland, and drove back home while hallucinating due to the tiredness we had. A big hug to the lynx I thought I saw greeting us by the road!

The PTD (post tour depression) hit instantly the next day, and I just didn't get anything band related done for a very long time. I'm fit for tours and home home, but switching between the modes is always hard.

All in all, we enjoyed the tour, and are thankful for it. And thankfulness requires a thanks list. I'm sure we don't have all the names here, but please understand us. After all, we're old, tired and demented. So, a million thanks to, in a sort of chronological order: Ryan + Evan for arranging the tour, and Evan for traveling with us • Leon del Muerte for lending pedals and the pedal board • Crackheads of Oakland providing us with entertainment • The guys who brought the pedals from Portland to Oakland • All the other people who lent their equipment, hands and beer • Hooded Menace guys for being a great company to travel and play with, and Markus for helping out with our merchandise • Vastum for the backline and being a great tour companion • Sergei for so many things he did for us and gave us • Jeff AD for helping us out and being the great friend he is • Branden, Shelby and all the other drivers who took us and the gear safely to the destinations • Venues, organizers, promoters, sound guys, stage hands, caterers, other warm-up bands, etc. • My daughter from other father, Christina Shaw • Sean providing us with Finnish alcohol in Seattle • Riia Juvonen for more alcohol and lots of smiles • “Matti” Fitzgerald • All the guys and gals at the heaviest metal accommodation in Seattle • All people who gave free CDs, vinyls and shirts • Everyone who supported us by coming to gigs and/or buying the merchandise • People who have sent photos and videos of the shows afterwards • You for being amazingly resilient and still reading this.

See you on the next tour, if that motherfucker ever happens! For a long while, I hoped it never would, but I'm hungry for more again.

"The 21st Century Polychromatic Adversary" T-shirt, and classic/logo stickers:

Turkka G. Rantanen has painted and drawn most of Demilich artwork since the beginning of the band. He's seen us keep the early Adversary drawing in print throughout years, and felt he wanted to revise it to represent what he would have wanted it to be like originally. The artwork will be released as a full colour print on T-shirts first – other types of shirts will follow if there's demand and the T sells enough.

The T-shirts will be in stock at the beginning of February, but we'll let you know when you'll be able to order them in advance. We'll also try to make some nice bundles with the compilation CD and/or older shirts for you to ruin your personal finance with. The shirt will also be available on our tour with Abhorrence in Finland.

We'll also make the stickers finally available. It's taken a while, you know.

It should be February where you are, but here it's still January. Mentally. So, let's move ahead with the January updates.

Before we'll start printing patches with the remarkable ideas people have already given us (like, "Free tibet", "I want Antti suck my lil'tits" and "GRAB HER BY THE PUSSY"), we'd finally love to get the original Nespithe cover as a shirt layout. And that's where we need your vision.

This is a mockup-only competition. We'll use a professional (which may be you) for the final image to be printed. So, the artwork (or a part of it) you should use is a smallish image you can find here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/83ggdcxtqijs9oz/AACJIMIpYAhWnnPZdV1h2H-Za?dl=0 . If you need the logo, it's also there, along with some shirt templates to use. More templates can be found in Google by searching "red T-shirt template", for example.

The design must adapt onto a T-shirt, but we'd love to get it printed on things like hoodies, too. The size and position can be freely picked, and you can also decide about the colour of the shirt. An all-over print is possible. There are no limits, apart from the fact that it must not cost too much to make.

So, stamp your idea onto a shirt, and post it in Facebook/Instagram/Google+/Twitter with hashtag #nespitheshirtcompetition.

We'll either choose the winner ourselves, or make a another poll about it if unsure. The deadline for your submission is around Thursday 16 February.

The winner will get a Demilich merchandise pack with the final shirt and other Demilich stuff. As we support humour, and you tend to give it to us, there may be a special prize for the one that gives us best laughs with the stupidest idea. We'd mainly love to get real submissions, though, so the special prize will suck compared to the real one. It may even be something that will ruin your life, like planting questionable material on your computer. I am able and willing to do it, you know.

I received my copy of Decibel Magazine's awesome new book already on December, and now after going through it thoroughly, I can highly recommend it to you! Lots of great interviews with classic bands – and then us. Well, our interview is the most extensive one ever, as all four members of the Nespithe era had their say in it. Also, my part consists of the replies I wrote for hours plus a 1.5 hour phone interview afterwards. I especially enjoyed Ville's laconic ending that kind of summarizes my dictatorship, however benign it may be.

We finally end the January announcements (in February) with a real gem. The legendary Finnish death metal band, Abhorrence, is back in business, and they'll start the year with four gigs with Demilich in Finland:

Anyway, if they don’t sell out, the remainders will be available online. And of course, more patches will follow shortly when the survey is completed.

And that's the wrap for the January announcement saga. Quite a journey, which will continue with updates on the things still floating freely around the interwebs.
