نتایج
کاهش قابل‌توجه قند خون، بهبود وضعیت کلسترول و کاهش شاخص‌های التهابی؛ همگی عواملی که با کاهش خطر ابتلا به دیابت و بیماری‌های قلبی مرتبط هستند.

عفونت‌های درمان‌نشده دندان باعث نفوذ باکتری‌ها به جریان خون می‌شوند و بی‌سروصدا بر اندام‌هایی دور از ناحیه دهان تأثیر می‌گذارند. به نظر می‌رسد درمان این عفونت به جبران و اصلاح بخشی از آن آسیب‌ها کمک می‌کند.

✳️ دندان سالم ساختاری کاملاً صلب و خشک ندارد. هر بار که چیزی را گاز می‌زنید، دندان اندکی انعطاف نشان می‌دهد و مینای سختِ بیرونی به همراه عاجِ نرم‌ترِ زیرین، آن فشار را با هم تحمل می‌کنند. 🦷
وقتی بخش بزرگی از این ساختار برداشته می‌شود، دندانِ باقی‌مانده مجبور است همان نیروها را با تکیه‌گاهی ضعیف‌تر و کمتر تحمل کند. اغلب همین‌جاست که سال‌ها بعد، مشکلات آغاز می‌شوند.
بنابراین، وقتی دندانی را ترمیم می‌کنم، مهم‌ترین مسئله برای من این نیست که کدام ماده استحکام بیشتری دارد؛ بلکه برایم مهم است که چه مقدار از بافت طبیعی دندان شما را می‌توانم حفظ کنم و اینکه ترمیمِ انجام‌شده تا چه حد می‌تواند عملکردی مشابه دندان اصلی و طبیعی داشته باشد.
معنای دندانپزشکی «بیومیمتیک» (تقلید از طبیعت) برای من همین است: ترمیم بخش آسیب‌دیده و دست‌نخورده باقی گذاشتنِ سایر قسمت‌های دندان.
