Sharjah Police roll out smart device to detect traffic violations, issue fines
For a smoother flow and fewer accidents on Sharjah streets, the emirate's police authority has rolled out a new smart device to detect traffic violators in real-time. In a video posted on its social media platforms, the Sharjah Police showcased the device named "Rased", in a bid to catch motorists who take wrong turns, ignore their lanes, putting their lives and the lives of others on the road at risk.
"The result will be more disciplined roads and smoother traffic flow, especially during peak hours. Our goal is your safety, not just issuing fines," the officer said. The emirate is stepping up its crackdown on traffic violations despite recording fewer deaths due to accidents in the first six months of the year.

Dubai bans delivery riders on fast lanes from November 1
Delivery riders in Dubai will be prohibited from using high-speed lanes starting November 1 under new regulations announced Sunday. The rules ban delivery bikes from using the two lanes on the left on wider roads with five lanes or more, and the leftmost lane on those with three or four. On two-lane roads or smaller, riders may use either side freely, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police said in a joint announcement.
Often referred to as fast lanes, the leftmost sections were already off-limits to delivery riders under a 2021 rule in Dubai. Similar restrictions exist in Abu Dhabi and Ajman.

UAE influencers warned against hidden vape or smoking product promotions
Several UAE-based influencers have revealed that they are being inundated with offers from vape and smoking companies. They are frequently approached with proposals to feature products subtly in their content, such as holding a vape in videos or stories, or including it in any scenario, without any explicit advertising.
The UAE Media Council has reiterated that advertising related to alcoholic beverages, prohibited narcotic substances, tobacco, or smoking is strictly prohibited, whether the promotion is direct or indirect, overt or subtle. This includes indirect appearances of vape products in influencer content, as well as subsequent resharing or amplification through other accounts.

Soon, you could be strolling through the streets of Dubai or Sharjah and suddenly find a tuk tuk whipping past. Although still in the process of getting official approval from the Road and Transport Authority (RTA), this Chinese-based electric tuk tuk company may soon find a market in the UAE. Tuk tuks, also known as auto rickshaws, are unique three-wheeled vehicles which are most commonly found in Egypt, Thailand, India, and other Asian and African countries.
Green Power GCC is the company trying to bring electric tuk tuks to the UAE. Ahmed Tauseef, a sales executive at Green Power, said that these tuk tuks may also be used by hotels and resorts as a form of transportation, much like a golf cart. He spoke to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the recently concluded Evolve Future Mobility Show, where the company also displayed an electric motorcycles in addition to the tuk tuk.
