34 Years Apart, One Shitokai Family, A Lifetime of Friendship. 🥋🇯🇵
Some memories never fade, and some friendships grow stronger with time.
In 1992, I had the honor of winning a medal in Open Kumite at the 32nd All Japan Shitokai Championships in Japan, alongside some of Japan’s great karate champions, including the Hasegawa family, Shinichi Sensei, Yumi Sensei, and Yukimitsu Sensei.
34 years later, during the 2026 World Shitoryu Festival in Yokohama, Japan, we came together once again to capture another photograph and share a wonderful reunion.
Looking at these two photographs, taken more than three decades apart, brings back countless memories of our younger days, our dedication to karate, and the friendships we built along the way.
Time has changed our appearances, but the respect, friendship, and spirit of Shitokai remain as strong as ever.
For me, one of the greatest treasures of a lifetime dedicated to Karatedo is the people I have met, the friendships I have developed, and the Shitokai family I am proud to belong to.
Different generations, different moments, but always ONE SHITOKAI FAMILY.
My sincere gratitude and best wishes to my dear Hasegawa Senseis and all my Shitokai family around the world. Wishing everyone continued good health, happiness, and success on the path of Karatedo.
